We switched vet offices to here from Manchaca Village because Thrive is way less and my cat was traumatized and scared of Manchaca's new vet. He went into Thrive for a checkup, vaccines and dental exam. My cat inherited bad teeth and I knew he had tartar and never had a teeth cleaning before. He also had a cyst on his lip. So I was given a quote for a teeth cleaning with X-rays and addressing the cyst and it was a 1/3 less than I'd found at the old vet and half of what I was getting quotes from at another place. We typically tell clients, at drop off, that we will call them when the patient is in recovery with a pick up time, as unexpected issues can arise with our other surgery patients. Called to find out about the free wellness exam offer and see if it could include estimate for a dental exam. They asked if we have any concerns "like bad breath" I said "sure his breath is getting bad" (part of the reason to get a teeth cleaning) the representative said it would be $59 because there was a "concern" Bad breath. A dog. It would be free but since I said "yes his breathe is getting bad" it's a concerned visit. That seems like a textbook bait and switch. Took our dog to the vet. They tried to force us to give our dog a rabies shot because she had already been bitten by another dog. Our dog was vaccinated. The purple-haired technician was so timid and standoffish that she would not even touch our dog and made us put a muzzle on him. This was so surprising. Don't be a vet if you hate animals. We have a loving chocolate lab that has never bitten anyone. Go somewhere else or maybe just wait for this "person" to get fired.
We woke up to a very sick 2.5 year old boy cat. We had used Thrive Pet Care for his check ups since he was a kitten. So we called into them for help (which ended up to be a Call Center). We were asked 5 minutes of questions only to be told that there were no appointments. We ended up at an emergency vet and found that had we waited one more day our boy would have had a burst bladder and died. DO NOT USE THRIVE PET CARE. They won't give any ballpark estimate of how much it is to neuter a cat! They make you FIRST pay them $59 to "see the cat" then they can tell you. They won't even give me a MINIMUM price. That is garbage and shady business practice: No other vet i called did this. Who wants to PAY first to find out the service will be too expensive. Unbelievable
If you want your pet to "thrive" go somewhere else. This place is the literal worst. The people inside are OKAY; but, the call center is absolute garbage. Tbh saying they are "okay" is being generous. Dealt with so many instances of neglect and waiting even for emergencies only to never be told they have an emergency clinic in cedar park. Google had my pets back before these people did. I swear the only reason this place is still in business is because covid has most of the good vets full and not accepting new patients
They told me my dog had Cushings disease. My dog went suddenly blind. They told me the doctor was a fill in doctor Dr Fox. I called 4 times in a 2 day period to try to get someone to answer me. They called me back about 40 hours later to refer me. I will never go here again. It is a great place when your dog is young, it is cheap. Not when your animal is really sick. I will pay the extra money to have a vet that calls me back.

Awful practice; staff is condescending, disrespectful and spectacularly unhelpful. No matter how early you arrive for your appointment they still make you wait outside until well past the appointment time. And every visit is a money grab, with threats: "If you don't buy this then we won't do that." and so on. I finally got fed up and cancelled. Save the headache and go to Banfield. The care is better and the people are much nicer.

As the technicians explained we want to make sure that any medications, we start patients on are indicated to continue use. At Thrive we follow American Heartworm Society guidelines which recommends annual heartworm testing regardless if they have been on prevention, to ensure we can continue to safely administer prevention but also diagnose heartworm disease earlier if a patient's results come back positive.
Unfortunately over the course of 4 years my grandma has been going to this animal clinic... On our last visit a couple months ago- it was POURING down rain.. the techs, reception and whoever else refused to come out and get my dog from the car which was 5 feet from the door. i didn't have a problem getting out other than my other dog is in the car, and i don't have an umbrella. i walk inside to hand off my pet and i saw MULTIPLE umbrellas sitting around and i asked "if you're doing curbside why do y'all have people coming in... read more
