There was a time not that many years ago when Trattoria del Arte was my favorite Italian in NYC. The prices were always a bit high, but the ambiance was such and the quality of the food so good, that I overlooked the dollar signs. Last night however was the saddest return to a favorite I ever experienced and my dining companions fared no better. After making an online reservation (on another site) asking for a quiet corner as one of our party is hearing impaired, we were shown to the back, which is the most accoustically cha... read more
We have 1 and 1/4 hours before the concert at Carnegie. Got the appetizer- mo or less edible. Looks like waiter forgot to put our order for main course in their system. Probably coz he and other stuff was swamped due to enormous amount of kids celebrating their graduation from high school. At 7:15 pm we were yoke that it’s coming. At 7:30 pm we walked away without a site of our food. Surprisingly Maitre D did not charge us for app: felt guilty for his waiter screwed up. It was nice of MD.
The worst ever. They told us they didn’t have any drinks available that evening. Food and staff were terrible. Never experienced anything so bad
Although this is my favorite restaurant in NYC and I do visit here 5-6 times per year, I was so very disappointed tonight. I even asked the manager if the place had been sold or if there was new chef. He denied both; however, I know something has changed. The Dover sole, which is usually the best in the city, was “heavy” and sweet. It usually is very light with a wonderful butter lemony sauce with capers. This was nothing like it. I sent it back. The marinara sauce on the pasta was too sweet and my husband’s chicken Milanese... read more
We were very extremely disappointed. We were hoping for a traditional Italian meal. What we got was Poor food , traditional Italian dishes were missing from the menu. Bread was old, olive oil was served in a cake plate, and waiter seemed to be bored
Crowded Low ceiling upstairs Long wait to sit even with reservation Bad service which the manager fixed Wrong dish delivered waiter insisted was right Some food good at table of six and some mediocre Used to like this place. But would not return Maybe at not Pre theater time would be better but doubt it
Stuck in a corner table with little room to move. Food wise, my ravioli shell was hard and the bolognese sauce was just average. Moderate price for the location
Fettuccine bolognaise terrible. All meat and zero hint of sauce! Totally like a ground up hamberger over pasta.
They double charged us for a $58 bottle of wine and the food was mediocre for the price. Wouldn't recommend anyone going there.
