Service was horrible. We had to wait over 30 minutes for our entrees to arrive. The wait staff was apologetic saying that there was a ticket mix up and a manager said he would see to it that something would be done for us, but nothing was done for any reparation. One of the dishes even had to be sent back because it wasn't hot enough. The food was fine, but the experience left my party very disappointed.
I have taken large parties to TDA several times and this was the worst service we've ever had. When in NYC I expect to have exceptional waitstaff especially at an establishment such as this. One person had to ask for her meal several times, and when it finally showed up the meat was dry and everyone else at the table had already finished their meals.
The restaurant itself is quite lovely and particularly the artwork. The host was cordial and welcoming however it was all downhill thereafter. They honored my table request (no.65) but the service was exceptionally poor. Our waiter seemed more interested in his other tables. He did wasn’t very knowledgeable of the menu & seemed uncertain when asked for his recommendations. We ordered a pizza ($30) that was luke warm, at best! Small portions - food was cold. Slow service. Won't ever go back. I am a travel agent and was very embarrassed I took my clients here.
I have dined at Trattoria Dell'Arte many times over the years and always enjoyed the visit EXCEPT on March 15th. That night the service was abysmal. We arrived at 6 and were not served ANYTHING but drinks until 7:15. Folks on all sides of us had THREE courses with wine and coffee -- all the time we were waiting for our single main courses. 45 minute wait for entrees! We had to leave or miss our concert. Disgraceful. Don’t accept reservations you can’t service!
Service was very slow for a pre-theatre meal...waited over an hour...then had to rush.
Trattoria Dell'Arte was a disappointment. The food was mediocre at best. I had a chicken dish listed as coming with arugula and fennel salad. There was no fennel. The seafood pasta portion was bland, small and was not hot. The service was terrible even though it was not crowded. We weren't even asked if we wanted drinks. The waiter was completely indifferent.
