How much would you pay for a flat-bread mixed mushroom pizza? First... consider that the pizza was about 12 inches wide by 8 inches long. $12? $15.... can you say $29? HOLY COW! And while it reasonably tasty, this wasn't the most incredible pizza I've ever tasted in my life. Frankly, this experience summed up my lunch experience... good food, but not even close to worth the price. I felt I was totally robbed. Had I not been with a client, I would have simply walked out after seeing the prices on the menu. Bottom line... if y... read more
Location, Location, Location.. We dined early Saturday night and were seated right away. The restaurant was crowded by 6:30 but the service was prompt, relaxed and friendly. We chose this place on a recommendation and because it was across the street from Carnegie Hall where we had tickets for an 8:30 performance. The menu is pricey - not surprising for midtown, but with those prices comes an expectation of superior quality. The entrees were disappointing. Very little effort was put into presentation. A watery seafood risott... read more
Trattoria Dell' Arte is a survivor amongst many restaurants within the area of Carnegie Hall that have succumbed to the current economic crisis. The place is considered a "hot spot" and it might be so for the locals, the thin crust pizza with minimal substance on the top for 30 dollars its a bit pricey, the wine list is fair, not extensive but manageable. Service is lackluster, at the end our waiter was not place to be found and another fine lady, acting as a server closed the check for us and collected---it took a while!!!
Everything was wonderful as I was taking my fiance out to celebrate our engagement. The only issues were her tuna was cooked well-done when we had asked for rare. It went back to the kitchen and another rare Ttuna steak came out very quickly. What really annoyed both of us was that the next day we learned that Trattoria Dell'Arte was participating in restaurant week and no one let us know when we were there. We ended up with a bill over $200 (with tip) when we could have done a $35 dollar a person three course meal. It appea... read more
Had our minds set on a veal dish with pasta...Hard time finding a veal dish, but did and enjoyed it....Not a place for us to return too..
I've eaten her several times over the years that they have been there and I used to remember it as a fairly good restaurant but when I went there Friday night I thought the food was terrible and very sorry I chose that place to take my nieces out. The only thing that was fairly good was the pizza. The cappuccino, tartuffo and all 3 main dishes were not good at all.
The most important thing to note about this restaurant is that the noise level is deafening. If you want to hold a conversation with a dining companion this is not the place to go. Food is ok, pedestrian and servers try hard.
The price of the food is too much for the amount of food that you get. There was nothing unique or spectacular about the dishes. There was a long wait before the waiter came to discuss the menu and another longer wait prior to taking the order. When we asked for utensils, the bus boys and the waiter threw the utensils on the table as posed to laying them properly or gently on the table. When we made requests, such as for more bread, oil, and balsamic vinegar, the bus boy gave an irritated look every time and just "dumped" th... read more
Food looked better than it tasted. Most things were just underseasoned and slightly above chain-restaurant quality. Service was rushed and impersonal.Convenient for our City Center pre-theatre, but we'll probably head back to Molyvos in future.
