Outrageous prices -- I know it is NYC, but it is a total rip. Lamb shank, overdone and stringy, my chicken parm was a joke. In fact, the risotto main course looked like an appetizer portion. Overall, I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.
Very snobbish staff. Keep customers waiting at checking for a long time without paying any attention. Waiter also try to push dishes. Do not recommend.
We have been many times over the years to Trattoria Dell'Arte after concerts at Carnegie Hall, across the street. We have many happy memories of these occasions, for the friends we met there, tne food, the service, and the ambiance. Sadly, this occasion for a reunion was marked by terrible service-we asked many times for more butter, more bread, extra Pellegrino, before we were tended to, and we had to look around the room for several minutes before we could find someone to serve us with each request. Mediocre food (veggies from antipasto bar and veal marsala), tables practically touching, and noisy. Not an enticing place for a nice dinner.
Usually better quality food - this was a disappointing visit.
Food and service were diappointing. Their "Signature" thin-crust pizza was awful. Salads were fine and so was some of the pasta, but overall disappointing. Definitely over priced, too.
The worse experience of lunch we had in NY!
I have been to this restaurant many times but the last time was very disappointing. I do not think I would go back. I ordered the pasta with clam sauce and it was too salty and the pizza margherita was not good either.
Disappointed this time...food was blah and noise level was up.
