This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in the past 5 years. They overbooked the place sufficiently that we had to wait 30 minutes for them to honor our reservation. The service was an absolute joke. It took them 20-25 minutes to just get water and bread on the table. The waitress was obviously overwhelmed, and normally I would have just accepted that and let it go, but she would take literally 10 minutes per table to chat while taking orders. WAY overpriced for service, quality and ambiance. I would not go back.
Based on a recommendation, I was looking forward to dinner with friends. These hopes were dashed after being offered a table in the front where the temp was 85 degrees, a table wedged near the maître’d stand, and finally, a table directly under a vent. Had I known they were going to combine tables together to put a raucous party of 12 next to us (so that the waiter couldn't get by and we couldn't hear ourselves talk) I never would have stayed. Given worst table in house, even with a reservation. Got to watch busboys scrape dishes, whistle, sing, gossip, and drink soft drinks at their station merely inches from our table. Just washed forks were handled by their tines in putting them away. Bar noise was deafening. Food very plebian; only good thing was free Proseco at end of meal.
Too Loud. Throngs of people arriving at the restaurant and very noisy. Made a reservation for 5 people and was given a table for 4 with an etra chair for the 5th. Complained and was given a booth. Very Hot. Air conditioning was not working well. Service was fair. Waiter's recommendations (since this was our first visit) were fair & did not provide enough food for the table. Definitely not a 5 star restaurant for the 5 star pricing that it charges.
The food was excellent. The service was not very friendly, and everyone seemed too busy to help. Our waiter was kind enough, but he was not supported well by others. We were placed in the very front room (by the bar) and the room was extremely hot. We were told that there was nothing that could be done. (What could have been done is that they plan well enough to tell us this when we booked the table...) We went to this restaurant after a Broadway play around 10 pm. We ordered cocktails and they came very quickly. We then ordered dinner and it was there within 5 minutes. We hadn't had time to drink our cocktails. Our food looked and tasted like it had been sitting out for a long time and was reheated and served. We visited Trattoria Dell'Arte at 8 june 2010, for lunch according to recommendation we got. It was a little to pricey and the portions were pretty small. we will probably will not recommend it :(
Wiater was not attentive, shrimp cocktail was poor
