This was my second time at Trattoria Dell'Arte. Both times it has been amazing. Their thin pizza's are the best in the world! I love this place. The scallops with artichokes was divine as was the lasagna. It is the closest thing to Italy without the trans Atlantic flight.
One of Mayor Koch's favorite spots, Trattoria never disappoints. My guests had the meatball pizza which was AMAZING and even outshone my Chicken Parm. Also good for kids as the menu is broad.
We had a nice dinner here. Its a bit overpriced for the quality of food and portion size, but nonetheless we enjoyed ourselves. The bar area is extremely tight, there is not much room to stand if they are on a wait, which on Christmas eve they were. Nothing spectacular about this place, but nothing bad. It was good.
My wife and I dined at Trattoria Dell'Arte last night, and the food could not have been better (plus the decor must be seen to be believed). We had ninety minutes before we all had to leave for the theatre, and the meal was perfectly paced. Among the stand-outs are the Lobster Seafood Risotto and the One Hundred and One-Layer Lasagna with a bolognese meat sauce. If you want a comfortable dining experience, noise and privacy-wise, it's CRITICAL to request one of the back rooms. (The front room is extremely loud and receives a... read more
I could eat the tuna steak or ossobuco and have a cannoli for dessert every time I go there and never get bored. The rest of the menu doesn't disappoint either. The wine and liquor list has something in every price range. Super convenient to Carnegie Hall, and a wait staff that will get you there in time if you need to, but not rush you along if that's not your plan. It's not the cheapest meal in town, but it's not hugely expensive by NYC standards. It always feels like a party there, so have a glass (or bottle) of Prosecco ... read more
Antipasti always good. Wait staff superb!
Usually eat at the restaurant on holidays. This time I was disappointed in the food. Service was good. The focaccia bread was dried out and that is all they serve. I will probably give the restaurant a rest and try another restaurant for special occasions.
We've eaten here twice, and on both occasions it was great. It's one of a handful of places open in NYC on holidays; and, while the restaurant offers special holiday menus, we recomnend that you stick to the Tuscan items from the regular menu. It's also in a convenient location right across from Carnegie Hall.
It is always a pleasure to dine there . It had been a while since I had been there, but it was a good as I remembered.
