I've actually been here twice: once years ago before a Carnegie Hall event and recently on a Sunday at brunch time. I recommend this place for a lively evening dinner (check out the antipasto bar). However, the (well-prepared) brunch options are few and over priced, IMO, and the restaurant was dead at noon on a Sunday. That being said, you can make a reservation here which is a perk compared to neighboring (better) brunch joints. The service is top notch and this place is good for groups.
Early Saturday dinner, warm greeting by the hostess, a choice of seating locations, attentive service, great antipasto bar with lots of choices, many quite delicious. We had pasta Amatriciana, which was very nice, and the 100 layer lasagna with Bolognese, very well done. Both were generous portions which we knew we couldn't finish after all the antipasto and breads, but the tastebuds won that battle and the plates were cleaned! Food is good, but a bit too expensive even considering the midtown location.
Service by our waiter was truly outstanding. He was friendly yet completely professional. It was a special occasion, we did not feel rushed, and the timing of the meal was perfect. I'll recommend the caprese with fantastic mozarella, and the veal milanese.
The restaurant was nice. A nice decor. Food was good. We had good service until a large party came in and we did not see our waitor. I had to find another waitor to ask for our check. Was surprised to see a bill for $22 for cooked pasta with no sauce which is what we wanted for our toddler. I will ask next time what it will cost before I order.
Over many years. Always dependable!!!!
The service was excellent, the food was amazing and we would definitely go back.
we truly enjoyed our dinner , where we met friends from out of town...we happened to have had a gr8 table, off to the side, inside the restaurant but it was almost like being outside, as the doors were open and it was a beautiful nite..the food was very good, but the only negative comment was the size portion for 4 from the anti-pasta bar....it seemed to fall short, although very tasty...our waiter, rich, was extremely attentive and all in all, i would come back and give this a very nice rating...
Went to Trattoria Dell'Arte for the first time with my wife prior to a show. Service was swift and perfect - seated promptly. Waiter was pleasant. Meal was fantastic (Tuna steak cooked to perfection and blue crab was outstanding) Highly recommended.
