We have been going to Trattoria Dell'Arte for about 18-years and always have found it a great place to go with a group--good food, great service, lively atmosphere. Two out of three are still there. What is lacking is the food. With the exception of the pizza, that remains among the best anywhere, the food is no longer of quality. For many years, my wife and I love dining at Trattoria Dell'Arte each weekend we come to New York during the Opera Season. The Veal Chop Milanese is the very best I've found in the whole city; and the Margarita Pizza is just wonderful. Their menu has something for everyone to enjoy. The waiters are well trained, attentive and friendly. We are warmly welcomed when we arrive, almost like family! As a foodie from Washington, DC, I highly recommend this Italian heaven.
Needed a quick spot to dine with foodie girlfriends before show at Lincoln Center. The staff immediately sat us at a table of our choosing. The ambiance was terrific, and our server Joey was outstanding! He patiently answered our many questions about the various dishes and helped us make perfect selections. I have been to Trattoria Dell'Arte three times -- always for a special occasion. It has the right mix of good food and great service. I really enjoy the experience of eating there!
The best Margherita pizza in the world is served here. The crust is thin, crisp and the sauce and cheese are perfect. The services is friendly and prompt. The rest of the menu is excellent as well, but the pizza is worth the trip to NYC. (Rays and the rest of NYC has great NY Pizza, but this is the best Margherita pizza.)
