A particular cool thing to do is sit at the wonderful Antipasto bar near the maitre-d station. You get to check out all the action and enjoy the food and scene.
My dining experience was good. I like Trattoria Dell' Arte because is near my house. It's over priced, too crowded and noisy but I always return because its location.
The service was very friendly and the food was good. I ordered veal with gorgonzola which had a good flavor, but was too large a portion (it was enough for two or three people). I would have preferred a normal-sized portion of veal with a couple of side items in a more balanced presentation. My wife had a New York strip which was also good but large. This restaurant is pricey and the meal could have become very expensive if more ala carte items had been ordered or had we had ordered more beer or wine.
We have been dining at this restaurant for over 10 years. it is always on our list when we visit New York City. Wish there was a place this in Los Angeles.
Enjoyed the meal and experience but a bit on the expensive side.
consistently good food. Sometimes a bit "zooey" but well worthwhile!
Always a good choice in this neighborhood. The antipasto selections are great.
Good food, fabulous deserts. downstairs is noisy, upstairs is much more quiet. Michael, our waiter was the best ever! Very friendly staff.
My wife and I class Trattoria Dell'Arte as one of our favorite Italian restaurants in New York and always eat there when we visit from the UK. The food is always very good and is one of the restaurants that understands how to cook tuna rare! My only negative comment is that as this was the first time there was just two of us the and table we were given was so close to other tables for two it was impossible to hold a private conversation. This would not stop us going.
