Bought the chicken francaise meatballs. Extremely dry. They did not give me francaise sauce to make them palatable
We ordered some food for our ER staff. The Caesar salad looked amazing but the croutons stale and soggy. The pigs in the blanket were dried out and a choking hazard. The sliders were dried out they forgot the buns and waited for them making it worse. The salads macaroni , potato. Super BLAND just tasted like mayo. 500 bucks thrown out the window. Ughhhh
liz m, I went to the Deer Park Ave. store to get real cans of D.O.P. San Marzano tomatoes. I purchased the Vantia brand and paid quite a bit for them. The can had the two seals and serial# on the label (which is correct)-but the can contains basil. The only ingredients allowed in true DOP tomatoes are tomatoes and their juice. This label is misleading and Uncle Giuseppe is selling a fake product and is charging a lot for non DOP tomatoes.
I have never been so disgusted with a company. My son goes to a special needs school in the morris plains area and corporate wouldn't donate any pizzas for their school dance. And when a mom called and spoke with Maureen in catering to ask about even a discount she was rude. A place that doesn't care about donating a few pizzas for special needs children is no place I will ever shop. And my desire is that others follow my lead. Just gross
The store is very impressive. My husband and I frequently shop the Port Washington and East Meadow location. This location is the "nicest" as far as selection and store size compared to the other two. What I wasn't expecting was a difference in taste. I assumed everything came from an Uncle Giuseppe's outside kitchen, but now I'm wondering are the things made in store because everything except the raviolis tasted VERY different here. Their pre-made Italian sandwiches are not good. Chicken cutlets are hard cardboard. Zero flavor. I will not make this mistake again.
The staff is rude & nasty, all heros seem so slim with meat* a big change since last visit* There seems to be less selection in nuts and produce. Always willing to pay more for wonderful items
I purchased a 5.66lb bone in leg of lamb for Easter last week from the Smithtown location. When it finished roasting in the oven, we went to slice it and the entire piece of meat was gritty, had cartilage running through it, and approximately 1.5lbs of carveable meat. The bone was absolutely huge and made up for the majority of the eight that we paid for. This was incredibly frustrating. We barely had enough food to feed our guests. Wonderful store, pasta sauces are great, great deli dept, prepared foods are perfect for a quick dinner, but my opinion way over priced, I bought 4 meatballs it cost me 18.00. I dont think the scale is calibrated correct, if so the quality doesn't oversee the price
