Wow if I could give this place a zero I would. They have the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered, the staff seem like they don't know what the hell they're doing. Please don't send your loved one here because they will lose their belongings, claim they have it, then call you back two weeks later to say they lost it again. I'm talking an important coin purse that has a loved one's important information in it. I had to give one star to post this. I would give zero stars.. I was sent there after I broke my right ankle. I had broken my left foot month before and had boots on both feet. And I was unable to bear weight on ankle for a few weeks. Food was terrible. Staff was terrible. Staff was unresponsive and had me waiting at least an hour to use bathroom. Most of the care givers were disrespectful. I was able to start rehab after I was able to bear weight. I was hardly given any strength training before they kicked me out... read more

Update on the after math of taking my husband out of the facility...... Someone from the facility ( that didn't agree with my review) called Elder Protective Services ( senior social services) to inform them that I was abusing my husband by keeping him from needed and proper care. The social worker came out to speak with my husband, and my husbands adult son & daughter to investigate the alleged abuse. After speaking with them the case was closed and labeled as unfounded. My family had a bad experience here. My siblings and I had never had a parent need this type of specialized care before, so didn't know what to expect. In a time of great stress while our mother was recovering from a traumatic injury, it would have been helpful for staff at Vasona Creek to provide basic welcoming information about procedures, protocols, goals, and what OUR role, as loved ones could be to facilitate things. I'm not sure how to rate a place like this. Many people that come here are in awful situations. Many are elderly struggling with illness. Many are terminal. The system is broken at this level in our healthcare. Workers are under paid and they have to deal with death and suffering everyday. They seem ill prepared in most places to do elderly care well, except perhaps hospice. That said. Getting my aunt out of Vasona was the healthiest thing I did this summer. I'm sure these places are equally awful but this one is the worst. My father in law was admitted 2 days ago to an END OF LIFE bed. Meaning he is dying. Was told maybe 14 days, chose to die with dignity instead of slowly drowning from fluids in his lungs from lung cancer. This was all decided before transferring him here. They are supposed to be giving him drugs on a consistent basis. The doctor told us we would have to demand the nurses given him his drugs which we have had to do almost every single time. Well, I'm home! Was so angry I left this facility several days after I arrived. They placed me in a room so small that my potty chair was one foot from hallway, the other roommate had to have EVERYTHING (wheelchair, walker, chair, bed table) removed so they could wheel her bed out for test to be done. There was no cord attached to the light over bed, no where to plug in cellphone or IPad, no room telephone. Vasona Creek Healthcare was a nightmare. My stay was following an amputation surgery. I was transferred to the facility directly from the hospital. The room I was placed into had 3 beds. The room, however, was designed for two patients. There were two TVs and the controller for my bed controlled the TV for one of the other patient's TV in the room. During the 20 or 21 days, I was a patient at Vasona Creek I had only 3 staff members that were exceptional. Sadly 2 of the 3 staff members worked Day Shift. The last staff member... read more
