This theater is a nice and i like that I dont have interuptions from staff bringing food. The staff is great and so is the food. It is a hidden gem, a great place for date night. Try the Chicago dog when you visit.
This and and Arbor cinema up north are the best places to catch indie and art house movies. When the budget is a little bigger and I have some money to burn, I come here. Brussel sprouts appetizer is amazing. Also have great bar service and specialty non alcoholic drinks like coffee. enjoy getting tickets early and sitting in comfortable recliners as well. don't forget to get some cake balls too. they are geeat!
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! I try to watch a movie here every time I'm in Austin. They have great snacks, concession products, and even drinks if that interests you. My favorite seats are really all of them, but I like to go in for an afternoon movie and book the front row. Their hummus plate is my favorite, and the overall selection of movies usually makes me feel like I've paid for a quality experience. I hear parking is awful, but I usually walk or cab it there. My reason for removiing a star ... read more
Easy to get to, FREE PARKING, a fantastic film selection you won't see in mainstream theaters, very comfy seats, AND... a really great bar staff. Ask Robert or Evan for their signature cocktails... they won't disappoint!
What a great theater. It's just interesting- the films selected, the staff, the bar and restaurant along with the vibe inside make this a favorite place to enjoy a movie.
I love this theater! The seats are comfy, the parking isn't as crazy as you'd think, and they always have good movies showing. What more could you also for?
Had a great time shopping at ToyJoy across the street before enjoying the show at the Violet Crown. Loved the nouveau-retro-hipster feel of the Violet Crown. Our experience with staff was excellent, from concierge to admin who cleared up confusion with a gift card, to the cashier who sold us our drinks, all were friendly, polite, and helpful. Parking was initially confusing because we had the wrong garage, but once we found the right one, it was easy and free.
Really hard to find the parking -- the online map helped some. The atmosphere is trendy yet scattered. Ticket price could be worse (seeing as they comp. the parking) but overall not too bad!!
After reading some of the reviews, I was afraid that the service would be really bad, but I did not find that to be the case, whether I got lucky, or whether other reviewers got unlucky. Started my evening at the restaurant and had an extrememly cool, helpful, friendly waiter. Ordered a bourbon drink called Bonnie and Clyde that was delightful and the Mediterranean salad which was really good. It had two types of falafel including a standard chick pea one and a beet based one that was really really good!! Then got popcorn ... read more
