This was our first experience at WA Frost - celebrating our 32nd anniversary. We had a wonderful experience but it would have been better if we had not been seated by the kitchen door.
We have always had wonderful food with a great variety of options. Small plates offer the option of creating your own chef's table, and there are some mini-desserts and combinations which allow for great individuality. Each member of the group approached the options differently. I had three small plates instead of an entre, and was able to have three dishes that I loved. a nice twist this evening was a cassoulet made with pheasant -- a first for me. This is one of the few restaurants which often has skate on the menu -- one ... read more
The four siblings took 85 yo mom to WA Frost for a special lunch to get out of the house. She has been home w 85 yo dad who now needs care which is something we all share. I chose WA Frost because I knew she would have a unique experience w excellent food, service and ambience. Easy parking was also a consideration. I told my siblings "no chain" restaurant which is where my parents would typically go for lunch. We all had an exceptional time. The waitress was professional, understated and respectful. We all ate every morsel ... read more
The salads were pretty blah. Mostly a whole bunch of lettuce, particularly the side salad that came with the burger. An olive or two, a couple of nuts, a tomato slice, would have been nice.
We went at 11:00 AM and the restaurant was very quiet and relaxing. It was much busier by the time we left.
Our group was looking for a place to celebrate wedding dress shopping with my daughter! WA Frost was perfect...great cozy, romantic, unique, old-world ambiance...delicious food...great staff! We would definately recommend it!!!
My wife and I went to WA Frost for our anniversary dinner and were very happy with the ambiance, service and the food. I would highly recommend the restuarant for anyone that is looking to celebrate a special occasion. We live in the northern suburbs and wish that we could find a nice place like this a little closer to home.
Took our son and his fiancé on a Sunday evening, to dinner to celebrate their engagement. The food and service was wonderful. Finished off with an after dinner drink in the basement lounge. We had the place to ourselves, could talk, and enjoy each other's company. It was a beautiful room. Even talked about having the groom's dinner in the basement lounge. We will see. I highly recommend it.
The atmosphere was excellent, and the food was very good. There was no feeling of being "rushed" to order, eat, or leave. This is a place to go if you are looking for an evening out with someone special or a close group of friends.
