Our dining experience was a superior event. The wait staff was extremely attentive and guided us through the menu selections. Matt was our server and was very helpful with the wine selection and also explaining the fish offering of Skate that was new to us. Food was excellent and served with a minimal wait time. We were not made to feel rushed. The building interior is very beautiful and quite a comfortable setting. The parking lot was a bit tight for space but arriving early, we snagged a spot. Definitely recommend for a sp... read more
Once again our experience at W.A. Frost was exceptional. It is really great to dine at a first rate restaurant where not only is the food superb, but the well trained, servers make it so enjoyable. Thanks for the great experience once again!
We don't usually drive all the way downtown to eat, but WA Frost has an excellent reputation, so we decided to try it. We were impressed. The servers were very attentive but never intrusive - kudos to whoever trains them. The last time I remember having service that good was in the Sacher Hotel in Vienna. The food was excellent and well presented. There were several rooms full of people and very lively, but we were seated in a room that was never more than half full, so the noise level was great. The four of us were surprised at having our otherwise delicious entrees brought to us lukewarm. It was quite the disappointment along with the crunchy potatoes, and carrots. Our waiter just stated that was the way it was being presented.
another superb meal experience at Frost's. On occasion, service can be slow, but most recently (2/5) service at lunch was terrific. A real gem, and it helped turn around an entire neighborhood 30 years ago. Outdoor patio, in season, is one of the best anywhere.
I had had my heart set on the steak - but it was not available at 11:30 on a Monday. Hmmm. Everything else was great!
It's been a while, but WA Frostt has not lost their touch. GReat to be back, feeling spoiled!
W. A. Frost's has a "Taste Menu" that is marvelous. Six different small courses that are all delectable. You get to choose between a vegetarian or non-vegetarian menu and have the option to have each course accompanied by different wine choices. The waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive, without being intrusive. We spent two hours dining and had a memorable evening. Also try the bar before or after your meal. The tin-tiled ceiling and figureheads behind the bar make for an awesome atmosphere.
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday. Neither of us had been there before. We both ordered the chef's tasting, mine regular with wine pairings, his vegetarian. Our server was friendly, but not overly attentive. A separate server brought our courses, and she was quiet and polite. The restaurant was very romantic: warm, dimly lit, wood fireplace. We really enjoyed our food, and I enjoyed trying new wines that complimented my meal. We weren't impressed with the dessert course, which was lemon poppyseed cake. It was okay, b... read more
