W.A. Frost is an amazing place to take a date or catch with friends over a glass of wine on the patio. Beyond that is a fun energitic place thebest patio in setting in St. Paul. Highly Recommend.
Early Sunday evening dining on the patio. Excellent service, excellent food and wine. Great meeting place with friends. Definitely recommend this city gem.
We used to be more frequent diners at WA Frost and came back after a short hiatus. We were not disappointed. The tasting menu was marvelous. The serving sizes are appropriate. The only course that was not super stellar was the 3rd course with beef - it was good but just not to the high standards I know expect from WA Frost. It was finished perfectly but just not special. Nevertheless, everything else was amazing (who knew Sweetbreads could be so delicious?). We'll be back. Would have scored 4.5 stars if I could.
Virtually every time we come here (at least once a year since 1997), we do the tasting menu, and it never disappoints. From the Marinated Snapper to the sweetbreads, the Duck, the Filet Mignon ending with the cheddar and deconstructed cheese cake. Just a marvelous array of flavors in every dish, with wine to match. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful with every question and request. I can't recommend this enough. Really, go do this.
Honest to goodness, one of the best meals that I have ever had. Plus the waiter was fantastic. He was professional but and hard working.
My first visit to W.A. Frost and hopefully not my last. The patio was beautiful and so relaxing. The weather was perfect and it was just a wonderful get-away in the city. The only complaint I had was I did not get my watermelon gazpacho soup until after the main course was served. Other than that it was wonderful!
Service: Friendly, helpful waiter. Food: Nice presentation. Great appetizers; the mussels as usual fantastic. Main course (crispy snapper) was arranged nicely. Sadly the selling the point for for this dish -sea urchin foam- fell flat. Both in texture and taste. Ambience: We were seated inside. It's rather challenging to seat a large group outside. The patio is lovely though! Overall nice dining experience. Would go back for the patio.
