If I could give less than 1 star I would. From charging my card without my permission, keeping my card on file without my permission, neglecting my dog while he was in boarding, not assisting me in troubleshooting my account that they created (therefore not allowing me to see online statements, etc), to having terrible customer service (Jill), I'm horrified that I thought this was a safe place to bring my dog. Background: I had hip surgery in the beginning of December. I was hospitalized for weeks recovering and taking medi... read more

Hi Amanda, We would like the opportunity to discuss with you any concerns you may have with your recent experience. We have tried relentlessly to reach you, and have been unsuccessful. Our team of caregivers really enjoyed caring for Remington, due to the specialized care provided to him- our team spent a lot of quality time with him, and they really did enjoy his sweet personality! Unfortunately, you did not pay for those services provided, and still requested to pick Remington up. We know how much you must have missed ... read more
Let me start off by saying that I have never actually been able to utilize any of their services. I tried to drop off my fully vaccinated four month old puppy for puppy socialization, which was only one day a week. Upon arriving, the girl at the front desk completely misread my dogs medical records, even after I brought to her attention that they were up-to-date and she had all of her necessary vaccines, she still continued to argue with me about how my dog was due for certain shots (she was reading them a month/day instea... read more

Hi Tiffany, we are so sorry you have not had the opportunity to use our services! We apologize for any confusion regarding your puppies' veterinary records, we try to be as diligent as possible with ensuring all of our guests are fully immunized- especially young puppies that are still building their immune system. We love our puppies; and really just want everyone to be as protected and safe as possible. Our training services are really limited at this time, and we have had to make some adjustments due to staffing limitat... read more
I boarded my two dogs here for the first time after liking the cameras and 24/7 access to them. Note that this was a $700 boarding bill for 3 days for 2 dogs to share the same room. A week later, I'm at the vet paying over $800 due to Wag's San Diego location having poor sanitation because both of my dogs have kennel cough, and one of my dogs having a gash on her shoulder and bald spot. My dog was sick enough where she needed an IV at the vet from coughing/throwing up/infection - Wag is fully liable for this, as this all oc... read more
Business response:
I am so sorry your pets were sick. It appears from your review that your stay occurred in May? If so, then since late August the Wag Hotel is under new management and has been consistently following our sanitation procedures. Also, we regularly do health checks on pets and will notify owners when any issues are found. If this was from a recent stay, then, as the General Manager, I would be more than happy to talk with you to learn how we could continue to do better for all our guests.
This company's process for booking grooming appointments is an absolute waste of time. They not only make you jump through hoops to request an appointment they make you get on the phone to confirm an appointment. Why in the world do they not let you book an appointment online? Are we in the 1950s? I do not have time to wait 4 hours to get a call back. And don't even think about trying to change your booking because they just don't allow it. It's as if their customers are their last priority. Go to your local dog groomer ... read more
If I could give this place zero stars I would. My son was neglected. The website lists a bath and all kinds of extra amenities including Netflix, Pandora, you choosing his playlist, bedtime stories, belly rubs, and luxurious suites. First of all I did not receive the wag cam right away. He was neglected and I had to call for him to get better treatment once I was finally sent the wag cam. I only seen him leave his room one time. The website says a bath but, when you speak to staff it's only for dogs staying for more than 5 d... read more
We boarded our golden here for a week while we were out of town. After I picked her up I found scabs on both sides of her neck and cotton balls matted into her fur below her ears. The injuries were superficial but given that Wag didn't see fit to notify us of the injuries during her stay, when we called to check in on her a couple times during the week, or when we picked her up, I'm at a complete loss. All we got was a couple photos and "she's energetic and she ate all her food!". Wag is the priciest boarding option in San ... read more
Whatever response the manager gives me does NOT justify the disregards for my dog's safety and well-being. It was acknowledged that my dog was being humped on and questioned if she was spayed or not. This is something simple that could have been solved by a phone call or text message instead of masking off the fluid left by the beagle with powder. Her rear smelled powder. Yesterday I booked a last minute dog daycare for Polly at Wag Hotel San Diego. I booked daycare + playtime + a Spa treatment with ears, tail or p... read more
Business response:
Ione, I apologize that there were multiple issues with your reservation. Being a holiday weekend, last minute reservations can be difficult to accommodate. I understand you wanting Polly to have a great experience during her first visit. We do too. That's why we don't recommend booking a first visit over a busy holiday weekend. It only adds to the stress your dog naturally experiences going into a new environment. Frankly, it is difficult to excuse your language in the use of the term rape and it is offensive to some peop... read more
Do not bring your dog here if you care about them! Just picked up our dog after 5 days at Wag hotel and he was filthy. He had an actual hard stool caked onto his fur on the back of his legs. It clearly had been there at least for a day and probably more. He had poop caked on his paws and in his fur on his back and sides! We gave him a bath the day we took him in. I cannot believe that they 1 let dogs have poop caked on them (never happens at home which likely means there was poop left in his kennel) and 2 don't even look for... read more
Business response:
We sincerely apologize that Duke went home with poop on his bottom. We do regularly check our guests and we did give him a free bath during his stay when we noticed he had gotten messy. Our rooms are refreshed daily and as needed throughout the day. We appreciate your valid concern and feedback as we strive to provide the best possible service to our guests. In good faith, we did refund your stay and offer a free bath (which you declined) when the issue was brought to our attention.
First off this was my first time with wag hotel and probably the last. My husband I went for a vacation from 13-16 of august. We wanted to place our puppy at a hotel that we can see how she is. We purchased a deluxe suite (it came with a raised bed, wag cam, 3 nights, 2 hour play everyday, 1 morning and evening walks) Most of the time we had to keep asking them to readjust the camera. The first time I even opened the wag cam, I saw my puppy pee on her own blanket. She's never done that before (she's been potty trained and sh... read more
