First, the tour and information provided by Wyndham Lakes staff was informative and thorough. [name removed] answered all our questions and helped us with the paperwork. The admission process was easy and efficient. My mom loves her studio apartment in the independent living area which includes a wonderful little kitchen. It is perfect for her. You can really tell the residents are happy and enjoy their home here. It's not one of those senior communities that feel like if you look at something wrong, you'll break it. Wyndham Lakes feels like home when you walk around the campus. It's an older community, but it's cozy, spread out, and gives everyone the ability to breathe. Plus, the recent renovations have given it a really nice refresh. Very bright and a big improvement! The place has lots of good energy but I feel as if we spoke about a lot of services they were going to provide that, after move in, they said we're not included. The air conditioning was a wall unit that didn't dehumidify well. The trash was in the laundry room and it attracted a lot of flys. My mom's room once had 11 flys I took out. The bathroom is way too small. The one thing that really bothered me the most was that their emergency watch AND bathroom systems didn't work and we reported it multiple times but it was never ... read more

They need to be a little more transparent, especially regarding the activities. The rooms are not op to standards, broken patio doors, broken screen doors that never get fixed they way they should. Back up water in showers and toilets. Short staff or no staff for maintenance.

The grounds are pleasant with lakes, geese and places to sit. The dining room is lovely. There are several. The food is very good. Room sizes are decent, fairly large competitively.

For me, the jury is still out. They brought in a lot of new tenants when [community removed] closed down and I don't think they had the staff to handle it. There have been many miscommunications and overlooked illnesses and details that are quite important. I struggle with clear communication with the administrative staff. I also struggle with the Responsibility they take on some very important things that you expect to come naturally from a facility like that.

Overall an adequate experience. Most of the staff is very nice, but appear to be short-handed. However, there are a couple of nurses that are not quite so nice ( at least in my mother-in-law’s experience) that have caused more of an issue for the elderly who is trying to get adjusted to this new way of life.
