Almost a good design. When the trap works, it is great. The rest of the time, it is trying to kill my pump by bleeding air into the system. The trap was designed to float upright just at the surface of the pool. But the unit isn't balanced well and twists onto its side. And, since the seal design is poor, it starts to suck air. At this point it is less than worthless.

Solid product that works best with this simple fix We recently purchased a home with a pool which had an older version of this canister; we bought this new canister to replace it and have used it now for about five weeks. Not sure if it's worth the trouble Suction: O-ring in the lid needs to be about 1/8 inch thicker, lid fits too loosely and lets air in. Installation: The adapter going from the filter to the pump fits the manual vacuum hose perfectly, but unfortunately that's backwards. The adapter on the cleaner side will not fit on or in the vacuum hose. They are identical sizes. Garbage Complete waste of time. Never got it to work as it kept falling over. Contacted seller who said it was a warranty issue.

Didn't work initially Need a little patience with this thing to work properly which I bet is where a lot of people have issues. At first I could not get the vacuum hose to stop tangling which all had to do with the jets in the pool. I tried several different orientations until I found one that resulted in the vac not getting stuck, not getting tangled or only hitting a certain area of the pool. This unit has poor gasket design. Very disappointed. This unit worked well the first couple months. I would not purchase again. As many have stated the seal leaks at the top. Once air has gotten into the unit it floats diagonally and continues to take on more air. This causes cavitation in the pool pump with is damaging to the pump. Saving a few dollars on this unit is not worth damaging my $1000 pump unit.
Product does not do what it is advertised to do! This product took away from the pool suction, the lid did not fit properly and when I tried to return after 1 week I found out I would be charged $18.42 to return ship and a 20% re-stocking fee. This is a terrible business model! I have purchased 2 Zodiac pool cleaners from Amazon and because of this I will find another product to clean my pool!
