Not as good as Zodiac Barracuda leaf catcher It look cool, with the "cyclonic" spinning water. But it does not work as well as the Barracuda model, which I've had for almost 20 years (1st one worn out, bought 2nd Barracuda, then it worn out). Decided to try this model, and I am regretting it. It look bigger, but it has to be empty out more often. Once the catcher get half full, it stops working. With the Barracuda, I can let it get full. So in term of capacity, I think the Barracuda wins. This model also tend to come up out ... read more

Slows the functioning of the pool cleaner When attached to the cleaner hose section. I think it's the design.

Great for 2 years, now I'm on borrowed time The first year, this thing worked flawlessly. My vacuum attaches to the wall so I just put the canister right up against it. The downside: I wish it would last a lot longer than 2 years! The lid has discoloration, but who cares, it still functions. The bottom of the inner screen has warped enough to let in debris and the bottom rubber piece literally disintegrates if you touch it...

Good job It does a good job of getting the leaves from the pool.

Almost a good design. When the trap works, it is great. The rest of the time, it is trying to kill my pump by bleeding air into the system. The trap was designed to float upright just at the surface of the pool. But the unit isn't balanced well and twists onto its side. And, since the seal design is poor, it starts to suck air. At this point it is less than worthless.

Solid product that works best with this simple fix We recently purchased a home with a pool which had an older version of this canister; we bought this new canister to replace it and have used it now for about five weeks. My review consists of (1) the PROS, (2) the main CON, and (3) a super simple fix you can do to eliminate the CON. With the con fix in place, I love the product; before the fix, I was about to get rid of the thing. Five stars, minus one for having to do the fix. PROS: When it works properly, it's great. Not sure if it's worth the trouble Suction: O-ring in the lid needs to be about 1/8 inch thicker, lid fits too loosely and lets air in. Installation: The adapter going from the filter to the pump fits the manual vacuum hose perfectly, but unfortunately that's backwards. The adapter on the cleaner side will not fit on or in the vacuum hose. They are identical sizes. Performance: after Jerry rigging the connectors using way too many different size hoses and adapters I had lying around, and holding it underwater because the lid... read more

Garbage Complete waste of time. Never got it to work as it kept falling over. Contacted seller who said it was a warranty issue.
