Must have if you have any trees near the pool Bought the mx6 and quickly realized I need something to catch the leaves and debris before it gets to my filter screen. This catches about 99% of the leaves and insects that sink to bottom so it doesn’t end up clogging my filter.
Buyer beware This leaf canister did not work well for me at all. I had issues from start to finish. Parts missing from box when I first got it. Huge loss in suction, Had to turn my pump up to compensate. Ended up returning and had a huge issue with the seller. took them 3.5 weeks to provide a refund. I would NOT recommend this product or the seller to anyone.
Buyer beware.. works great for the first couple months!! The leaf canister doesn't close air tight anymore after couple months of useage... Very disappointed, causing leave to be stuck in-between very easily....
Interesting design poorly executed Two problems: 1. The lid never forms a seal with the canister. When fully closed and locked into the detents in the lid, the canister rocks about 1/16th of an inch preventing a seal from forming. This allows air to enter the line and cavitate the pump if the edge of the canister lid is above water level. Winds from a thunderstorm caused waves that created this situation in my pool. 2. Does not seal, lid is loose The lid does not secure tight so suction is lost. There is also a rubber vent on the bottom of the unit that also does not seal properly. Hose connections also do not seal properly. Too many issues for something of this value.
