Good, not great. Has been running for a week, so these are just first impressions. Works well on the floor and walls, but can't get up the steps. Hose sections have an unnecessary locking tab that makes them incompatible with generic hose sections. This also makes it so my in line leaf basket is not compatible. I am aware that proprietary parts are available, but it is just more money to spend.
Does an amazing job cleaning the bottom and sides of my inground pool I like the product for it's ability to vacuum and scrub the bottom and sides up to the water line. I does not climb steps in the pool but those are easy to brush sediment into the bottom. It does not clean up floating debris, that's left for the skimmer. The vac is quiet and does not add to the electricity coast of running the pump. The vacuum port of the hose frequently comes loose when the vacuum system is not running. Great cleaner, lousy warranty First off, I love this cleaner. I does a great job of cleaning my in ground pool including going up the sides all the way to the water line. It's sturdy, well made and easy to use. I had to subtract a star due to the warranty. I recently had an issue where one of the wheels broke off. It was under warranty and I was expecting to be able to return it for repair or replacement. I LOVE IT! After reading some of negative reviews, I was very skeptical. After further investigating the reviews good/bad I've come to the conclusion on few things.1. Folks that complained about it never mentioned anything about purchasing an extended WARRANTY. I told myself, I will try it out. If I like it, then I'll come back online and purchase a warranty.I received it yesterday and it did a great job cleaning my pool today. So far so good It's a good pool cleaner so far, I have a 12000 gallons pool went on vacation for 2 weeks, when I came back found my pool walls and floor yellow! Well this baby took care of that n to my surprise it cleaned very fast!It doesn't claimb the wall unless I close the suction valves completely, I have a 1 horse power pump! In other words, in my case it doesn't work in low suction as advertise, but I'm happy with the purchase!
Works good, just have to keep adjusting suction I got this to replace my old barracuda disc cleaner for my inground pool. Got this MX8 up and running in a jiffy. I check it once a week and do find that there is sometimes fine string debris from my queen palms caught in it. So I just pull them out and start over, which me readjusting my suction to the MX8 so it is accurate on it intervals of moving at it's recommended speed. Great vacuum, easy to use, time will tell on value Update: July 2021Keeps spinning in circles. Not jammed. Nothing appears broken. Not sure what is wrong but I’m really upset because it is as good as garbage as it is right now. Absolutely perfect The media could not be loaded. Extremely easy installation. I have a saltwater pool with a DE filter and my initial installation I had very low suction and slow movement. This was a sign that I needed to backwash my filter. Once I did that it work perfectly. It's excellent and the best price I've found was here. If you're considering getting one don't hesitate. Defective out of box, only spins and stalls My previous MX8 worked well for over five years, but it was time for a new one. This one failed to operate properly out of the box. It would only spin in a circle or stall entirely. After 90 min. wait for Zodiac tech support, they sent me to a local pool store. Several days later, after two trips there, they insisted it was OK.
