Keep an eye on it Sometimes product just stops moving. Have to get out of pool and turn blades to get unstuck. Will hear a click when doing this. Yes, plenty of suction and wheel rotation when moving. I have yet to see it climb up and do my stairs although it days go up my walls after it’s been running for a while. The first cleaning floored me. Like a new pool Be mindful that my review is just the first day. I will write again in a couple of months to discuss the longevity of the vacuum.I really like how easy this was toPut together. Being a new pool owner I was worried about what to buy. After reading several reviews and then seeing it for myself.. we bought the right one. Cleaned our messy, dirty pool in one day.Going to put it away now and clean the pool every 3-4 weeks now. So simple to use.
Meh It vacuums decently, I even had a professional come install and I have new equipment all as of 2020. The tracks wear out FAST and you need them for it to honestly work at all. Clearly. Anyways, the rotating teeth underneath slightly fight each other with water currents making it miss medium size leaves and up. It doesn't do the chopping motion you would assume. Work horse We have a pool with steps that are in corners of the pool and this is a sweep that does not get stuck in the corners. It will turn and re-position itself to continue the job that it was intended to do. This is a more expensive unit than the many other sweeps that I have tried but it is the last one that I will need to try. Eh...not so great. While I suppose this does a decent enough job I found it extremely cumbersome and awkward. I had to turn 2 of my skimmers off and it went into the 3rd skimmer. I should admit I went from an extremely easy Polaris with a dedicated line to this. The Polaris I would leave in the pool when not in use. No way could I do this. I gave it 3 hours and there was still debris in my deep end. I returned it and exchanged it for a dolphin robot pool cleaner which is amazing. My 40’ pool was cleaned in 90 minutes.
Suction My pool as two skimmers and a dedicated port for a cleaner. With the standard Baracuda - G3 Advanced Suction Side Automatic Pool Cleaner application this worked fine. However this unit requires 1/2 of the available suction provided by the pump instead of the 1/3 the other unit operated on. I have to disable one of the skimmers in order to effectively operate the unit. I do like the unit and it does all the way up to the water line but I hate losing one skimmer.
Does it’s job very well. This auto pool vacuum works well. This is the second MX8 I’ve owned in the past 10 years. I rebuilt the first one with various parts I bought from amazon. It’s easy to repair. All parts are inexpensive and readily available. Mine stays in the pool almost all the time so it finally just needed to be replaced. Very happy with this unit! I’ll probably buy another one in ten years again.
4th Cleaner in 4 Years I've had it running for only 3 days, but it seems to be doing the job. I have tried so many different cleaners and I've all broken down in about a year! I'm not very handy so fixing it was not on the list of things to do. I am hoping this one at least last a couple of years!
Ad said "used-Like New." Not even close. Poor suction. Everything (yes, everything - every hose, the unit itself) was scuffed and scratched. I tested the number of rotations of the wheels as instructed to determine if it is operating properly. The only way I could get the proper suction is turn up my pump to high and not use the Flow Keeper valve. That increase my electricity usage a lot. I will see how it works for a while.
