Looks like it was made in China, cheap internal parts So far not a big fan. I've only owned it for a week and I am not impressed. It seems there are parts that have a planned obsolescence, meaning there are parts designed to only last a year or two. Suction is hard to get right, and for the money it costs, I am surprised how "Chinese" made this thing looks
Solid build, easy to maintain and self fix. Best pool vac / sweeper ever. Proud owner of the original MX8 and now the elite. You must know what you're doing but it is VERY EASY to disassemble and reassemble. YES it does get stuck and sometimes appears to be broken upon being new or replacing tracks. My go to fix is the breakdown the new one (if it gets stuck) and rebuild to ensure working. It will be tight and sticky around the tracks...move it and get it going. Great cleaner, but palm tree debris is it’s kyrptonite. I do like this pool cleaner and there are a lot of pros for sure. However, IF you are dealing with palm tree debris I might reconsider. The cleaner itself gets clogged super easily with just a few long palm frond debris. I’m not talking super big pieces even just skinny long fibrous pieces. Gets defeated easily by oak leaves Overall, I like it. I'm still glad I have it. The leaf canister was vital for me. Unfortunately, it can get defeated by as little as one oak leaf. It binds the internal moving parts and stops it from moving. If you have small soft leaves, it should work great. Its great at sucking dirt off the bottom and scrubbing. The random motion is not as efficient as you hope but I just leave it hooked up all day while the filer is on and take it out when we swim.
Best I Have Ever Owned For as long as I have had a pool have used the Kreepy Krauly pool cleaner. It came with my pool and as it wore out I would just buy another because that is what I was used to. High Maintenance This product is built very well and should last a long time. It is not practical if you have palm trees that shed long leaves. As you can see in the photo the leaves get tangled around the propellers that rotate and stop it from working. The long leaves stop it dead in its tracks. You must manually skim the bottom of the pool and let this robot pick up all the smaller debris. I paid way too much because I paid $720. Best Side Suction Pool Cleaner The media could not be loaded. Replaced my original cleaner and wished I had this 10 years ago. Runs efficiently at low variable speeds from my pump. The brushes do a great job picking up small or large leaves and debris at the bottom of the pool. It climbs large inclines and walls with ease. Gives me the ease of mind that I will be able to replace the tractor wheels or brushes in the future.
Powerful Vacuum This is a quality pool vacuum. It's easy to install, has a nice appearance, very good suction. It often goes up the walls and is a speedy choice
Poor quality of hoses I've had 4 hoses break! I only had this for a few months. I need to replace the hose part that has the water regulator and the white tube that goes into the inground pool filter system, the system that sucks the water to clean the pool. Anyway, as you can see, they are glued into the hose. I can't take it out. Even if I could, it would be useless. If I don't have this hose, will it harm the unit if I use it without the water regulator? Take care of your hoses!!!!
