We had a reservation and was promptly seated. It was downhill from there. Our server was curt and inattentive. The service was also slow; waited 45 minutes for our dinner. Our appetizer/soup/bread plates were never cleared. We were abruptly offered dessert but never shown a menu. We had an 8a reservation and the restaurant was not full.
It was our 20 yr anniversary. My wife ordered the filet mignon medium rare and it just so happened the couple sitting next to us ordered exactly what we ordered and that got seated about 20 minutes after us..Their food was brought to them about 10 minutes after they ordered and she sent it back cause she said the steak was too rare..We told our waitress what we had to have happened..They got our food..She said she would take care of it so basically we got their food ..The steak was medium well to well..which is cooked too mu... read more
On this particular day, the restaurant did not live up to the elevated experience described on Open Table. The manager was working like crazy to keep it together, bless his heart. But there was a big crowd on a Wednesday night and it overwhelmed the staff. The special dish was good. Service was slow. We are tourists and willing to pay for a nice meal, but would not go back if we had the chance. Sorry, guys!!!
Atmosphere wasn’t inviting. Our family was dressed up, but my oldest son had a hat on. One of the employees came over to ask him to remove his hat, which was fine, but for the rest of the night every time that employee walked by she stared at us as if we didn’t belong. Very disappointed with overall experience.
First off, all the food was amazing, but getting to the table was an absolute calamity even though we had reservations. No order and no concern for reservations. We asked for a view of the water, where hostess said no problem and got a table ready; she said we will be seating you in a few mins. When you walk in, you smell sewer. (Puke) The calamari dish is poorly seasoned. And if you really want a pasta dish with seafood, don’t get it here. This isn’t an Italian restaurant so it’s not authentic. Rotini don’t belong with a seafood dish. Disappointing. Do not even understand how this place is busy. Their food is subpar. Service was great, however.

When we visited Alexanders two year's ago it was awesome. This time it was terrible. Our server forgot to take one of the 4 orders at our table. When we corrected it, she brought out the wrong meal anyway. She brought us a desert to apologize for the mistake and gave us the birthday cake meant for a child with Down's Syndrome at another table. The service was just awful this visit. The food was just ok. This restaurant has gone dramatically downhill in the past two years. This was sad as we were really looking forward to it!

We ordered calamari as an appetizer, but received a plate of fried vegetables and a couple of calamari and shrimp on it. We decided to try it instead of sending it back...it was so greasy. It made one of us feel ill and couldn't eat the rest of the meal that was ordered. The service was great and so was the atmosphere.

The noise level from a single party of 12 was almost unbearable. The wait staff could not hear us from 2 feet away. We asked to be moved. The manager said it was July and there was nothing he could do about it.
