"After two years of service my printer (Epson Stylus Pro 7890 @ $2500+) experienced a head failure. I discussed the problem with SquareTrade they decided it would be best to replace the printer and sent me a check for the original purchase price. The Epson factory two-year warranty on that printer is about $1400, and Epson treats you like sh**. . The SquareTrade warranty, with better coverage was $269 for three years. I highly recommend SquareTrade to anyone that will listen. "

"A technical person I am not. I purchased 2 yr Square Trade warranty for a Canon all in one printer I purchased thru Amazon (which by the way are awesome). Was not long and I managed to disable the printer within the 2 year warranty. I contacted SquareTrade and immediately upon receipt of the printer (they sent email containing Fedex label) and I was given choice of a check or Amazon gift cards for full amount including printers and warranties. I received the gift card number within 1 day of taking it to Fedex. "

"Went to preregister my printer after staples purchase and found out I had been given a duplicate copy not the original copy of my printer (first problem) found out that receipt could not be used to register my printer (why???) not our policy. Then I asked why they needed a receipt as they were able to check through my rewards number that I had purchased printer and warranty. "I'd used SquareTrade to cover my iPhone 5, but we never had to use it. The only issues we had happened during the one year manufacturer's warranty and were due to hardware issues, not accidents. So Apple covered those. But since Squaretrade was still cheaper and had a slightly lower deductible, we reupped with them when we got the new iPhone 6. "I purchased a 3Tb external hard disk drive about 2.5 years ago & I purchased a 3 year extended warranty on it through SquareTrade. I have a utility that monitors the health of hard disks and a month ago, the health of this drive went from 98% healthy to 26%. I monitored the status for about a week and it dropped to 24%. I ordered a new drive and called SquareTrade. They didn't ask any questions but started my claim immediately! "I purchased a printer almost two years ago, and had the extended warranty applied to it, and the printer began having software problems and then some hardware problems, and when I purchased a replacement for it, I filed a warranty claim with Square Trade, and in just four days, had my money for the first printer. Needless to say, I will use their services more often now, it was worth it, I didn't need to be down even for one day."

"I recently sent my iPhone 5 in for service (cracked screen, bent case, bad battery). The phone came back repaired incorrectly in that non OEM parts were obviously used. SquareTrade recommended I take it to an Apple Store for them to repair it correctly and send them the bill. The Apple Store wouldn't repair a phone that have been worked on by non-certified 3rd parties. Thus, they wouldn't touch it. I was left with a "hacked" phone. "EDIT: I am leaving my original post intact below. However, I have since gotten in touch with a SquareTrade supervisor (via their phone system, not related to any review I wrote) from whom I received very professional customer service, fully resolving my issue. Because of the effort and time spent fighting to get to this point, I still cannot give them a glowing endorsement, but overall I do feel satisfied and certainly wouldn't recommend against using them. "I found this company to be VERY incompetent. They hang up on me 4 times, I had to resolve many data issues for them. If I didn't have the info that they should have had on file they would have denied my claim. I was supposed to receive a gift card for Amazon from them in the amount of $194. it was actually short $25. If I had not looked at the purchase closely I would have missed it. Then there was a fiasco resolving that. I have to wait an additional 5 days for that amount."
