"A tale of two warranties. A claim earlier this month (Feb, 2015) on a TV repair (not covered by a ST warranty) took more than two weeks from filing to repair. The warranty was from a well-known and reputable company, but the process was extremely long, although the repair was ultimately completed to my satisfaction. A claim this past week (2/25/2015) took less than two days from first filing to total refund. If I had been given the option of a ST warranty on the TV, I would have chosen it, hands down. "When I bought my laptop at Costco 26 months ago, I purchased the "Drop & Spill" insurance for less than $100. The other night my laptop tumbled from my arms at home and landed badly onto the carpet. Yes, the inside screen has shattered. I'm a new Realtor and don't have much "extra" money to repair this or worse, replace it! I remembered this insurance I bought and pulled it out. "I needed a repair on my iPad Air. The earphone jack had stopped working. I filed a claim with SquareTrade and told them I wanted to bring the iPad to the Apple Store. They okeyed that in a few minutes. I made an appointment with the Apple Store, brought in the iPad, and was told that it could not be repaired but rather would be replaced for a fairly significant amount of money. "HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, GOT A WARRANTY FOR MY TV SCREEN PROBLEMS, AND KNOW THEY SAY THEY CANT COVER IT BUT, THEY WILL BE KIND AND REFUND ME THE AMOUNT I PAID FOR THE PROTECTION. TALK ABOUT A RIP OFF. NEVER IN MY LIFE I WILL GET A PROTECTION PLAN FROM ANYBODY, INSURANCE IS A COMPLETE FRAUD."

"I was somewhat disappointed with my first claim. I recently purchased my first squaretrade warranty that was intended to cover my iPhone 6. First of all, I guess I misinterpreted the advertisements on the website because I thought it meant that it would replace my phone up to 3 times if necessary. I found out from a customer service representative that it doesn't work that way and that I have a cap on how much they will replace.
