The air conditioner was not running. Doing the claim to American Home Shield was easy. You just do online request. The contractor was very good and very professional. They repaired one thing, and it ended up not lasting another day, and then they repaired a second thing. And now, it's fine. They had to replace two pieces - the contact switch and the fan motor. American Home Shield did a great job.
The tenant said there was a burning smell coming from their fridge. The Fridge Guy came out. Everything is fine now. The only problem I have is some things aren't covered by Home Shield. But so far, so good.
Home Shield's reps are very polite. It's easy to schedule appointments. They were great. I've always used Home Shield and always recommend them to my clients.
I've had two claims with American Home Shield. One was I had a leak in the guest commode. The young man came in on time, very presentable, which is sort of a step up from the normal stereotype of a plumber, good looking, clean, and professional. I have been an American Home Shield customer for more than a decade and have been the recipient of numerous service calls. During that period of time I have only had 2 or 3 negative experiences. One I remember vividly is when I needed a new water heater which cost me in excess of $800 and was not installed to code, caused a leak in my roof due to the improper installation of a vent (have gas water heater) and took more than a month to resolve. My overall rating of AHS is 3 stars. Mostly because every time I place a service request the first service provider sent is terrible, rude and not professional. My last 2 requests, I’ve disputed the first service providers diagnosis and requested a second opinion. Both times the second opinion is different than the first. Please, please, please only do business with service providers that are able to uphold your customer service reputation. The tech from Fix-It Guys is working on my refrigerator. He fixed my ice maker. But it beeps all the time like an alarm going off or something and he's having a hard time figuring out what's wrong with it just as much as we're having a hard time figuring it out. My refrigerator was messed up then it defrosted. The company that American Home Shield sent out to fix it took too long. I lost so many things in that fridge. These days, we have a lot of stuff. I was very happy when they called Sears and they came the day after. That was very good. They sent me the best technician from Sears who did the repair on the same day. Everything went well.
I had a plumbing issue where All Clear Plumbing came out and they did a great job. They were punctual and pretty easy to work with. They did everything they said they'd do from scheduling the appointment, contacting them, to the actual technician coming out and doing whatever he was required to do. The guy called briefly to let me know he was on his way and every aspect of the service went fine.
