I have two units, one on the east side and one on the west side of the house. I had tried to contact American Home Shield again yesterday afternoon to see if the contractor could come and see what's going on with the AC. When we closed on the house, the homeowner had to give us a home warranty and we decided to upgrade American Home Shield and keep it there. I had them in one of my other houses before too and I appreciate them taking care of stuff. I felt that the claims submission process was good. I got good answers and I got called back on time. We have valued this warranty program. We have had quick responses to requests for service, knowledgeable technicians have always been sent out, and we feel like we have received good coverage and quick repairs with our appliances and water heater.
I used AHS once. It was for a plumbing issue with the washer hookup and that was resolved. The contractor that came out was great. This time, the technician didn't have to come out. I fixed the issue. I'm hoping I get refunded this last $100 that I paid because I didn't utilize it. I called my friend, he’s a plumber, after I had already called American Home Shield. Beaches Air Conditioning and Heating provided good service. The gentleman arrived in a timely manner when they had pre-called to let me know when they were coming. He was very courteous. He had a mask on. He came and greeted me at the door, asked what symptoms we were having, and went and did an inspection on the unit. He didn't find anything wrong though. I love having coverage with American Home Shield. It’s great. Recently, the garbage disposal was broken and the contractor came and changed it. He was great and everything is still very good.
The technician was very knowledgeable and professional. It was the next day after I filed the claim that they came. They had a cancellation and they called me immediately saying they knew we didn't have air. The AC was clogged and they got it working again. American Home Shield should cover more sometimes. But overall, we always have a home warranty on all the houses we owned and American Home Shield has been as comparable as the others that we've used. There was a leak. I thought it was a leak coming from the pipe coming out the wall. But when the guy came, he said it wasn't that. It took a real good professional to look at it. It was the faucet that was leaking from the back of the sink. He didn't have the actual piece within that day, but he made an appointment to come back. He did and fixed it in maybe 40 minutes. The capacitor and the motor outside for the downstairs AC unit went bad. I called Home Shield on a Wednesday and the earliest A+ Comfort could give me was a Saturday. I called again on Thursday and the lady tried her best to get me an earlier service. She was very cordial but she couldn't find anybody. She apologized and explained what was happening.
