I had a warranty through Home Shield before and everything worked out well. Also, I'm a realtor and we use them a lot. Gimino's Appliance did a great job. The tech showed up when he was supposed to and found the problem. He had a mask put on. We got the part within a week and he came and the problem was resolved. I’ve been with other home warranty companies and it was terrible. I was pleasantly surprised.
We had an issue with our dishwasher not washing properly. It drained. Then, we had a problem with the burner of our oven and the stove part wouldn't work. It would boil, but it wouldn't heat up for normal use. We called AHS and they sent somebody over here as soon as someone was free. The contractor that came for my recent claim with AHS was excellent. He was prompt and informative. He told me exactly what was going on and he was step by step. Then he went to the other bathroom and he was able to repair. The first bathroom, there was nothing going on. It was just a user error on my end. So, he explained it. There was a leak underneath the sink which caused the center island to flood. So, we couldn’t figure out what that was. There was also what was a blockage. Adam, the rep from Hers and His Plumbing, fixed that and then also determined that the disposal needed to be replaced. So, he replaced that. Then, on a secondary call, he found this massive clog in one of the drains underneath the house, which was causing the actual issue. He took four hours and I was shocked. ReKey was very prompt. They got us scheduled right away and got there. The guy was very courteous and was in and out. This is our first positive experience with American Home Shield. The very first one we had scheduled was for our water softeners and that was a dud. American Home Shield scheduled it and told them exactly what it was with the company. The first tech that came out for the washing machine made the problem worse. So I called back and got another more experienced tech. He was able to get it fixed. AHS did a good job. I've had issues with them in the past. But in recent months, it's gotten a lot better. They are now a lot more consistent and attentive. The AC wouldn't start cooling and then the unit would just shut down. Arctic AC came out and they were awesome. It turned out it was a bad capacitor and the tech had a capacitor. The unit is still working great.
Anytime I have needed a service I have been contacted within 24 hours and had my service completed. Last weekend my AC was not cooling and I contacted them via email and was immediately assigned a contractor. My service was completed within 48 hours by a very professional young man.
I been using AHS for 5 yrs. Some of their contractor are absolutely. I have rentals also. One HVAC company always tell you you are low on freon and you need 2 1/2 LB of that. So they come in ready to charge you $400 for that. In the past I had 2 Plumbing companies. They were awful. One HVAC came last month as said I have to replace unit and pay $4000 out of my pocket. It is frustrating that I have to ask them to send tech 2nd time. Also sometime AHS will transfer job to different wonder and I would not even know that.
