We've had American Home Shield for about 20 years and they've always been good to us. We've always enjoyed their quick service. When I call, it's always within a couple of minutes, someone would usually call us back, or no longer than a half hour or so. I don't know what we’d do without them. I was satisfied with the service provided by Carolina Air Heating & Cooling. The AC unit wasn't cooling but everything's perfect since they came out. It was 90 degrees upstairs so it made a huge difference after they came out to repair it. We've been with AHS for two years and have used it twice. Both times, we have saved quite a bit of money, so I'm very satisfied with them. I would tell my friends that AHS is definitely worth the investment.
I initially made the claim because the sump pump was continuously running and it wouldn't shut off. I contacted American Home Shield and they sent out All Clear Plumbing. It was an issue with getting the lid off the sump pump which the guy took time to take care of way beyond what he probably should have done. He really looked out, got the lid off, and corrected the problem that same day. It was some debris stuck inside of the valve. He cleaned out the pump and everything's working well. He was very professional and patient.
It's easy to submit claims sometimes, but sometimes you have to call them few times. Sometimes, the claim takes far too long. So you have to call so many time to have the issue fixed. I'm still waiting for Sears for more than a month to come and fix my issue. I don't know when they will get the part and come. Also, some of the technicians are good and some are not good. So they should pick the right company and the right person. They should ask the homeowner which one they wanted.
My unit stopped working and was not controllable by my Nest. My Nest would not show any power. When I went to that unit, it seemed dead so I filed a request for American Home Shield to provide service. I did that online. I've been using their website for 10 years and it's very good. I was told the contractor would be available within a day. I was expecting the contractor, JS Heating, to call me but they did not. Whenever I use AHS, they provide pretty good contractors to come out and handle the business. The claim process is pretty easy and intuitive. I had a plumbing issue recently and they sent South Tampa Pool and Spa. I didn't know anything about the contractor prior to even coming out. But the guy was very knowledgeable, courteous, prompt, and on time. He was happy to educate me about what was going on and he answered any questions that I had. I was very satisfied.
We had some flickering lights. The AHS website was really good when I submitted the claim online. I got an email back saying who the contractor was and that they would contact me within 24 hours. An electrician from Washington Electrician Service came out to check whether there were any problems with our electrical system. My husband said he was good and there were no issues. Active Appliance Service came out for the dryer when its motor was not working. The tech was pretty good. He fixed it for me. We had to make an appointment and they fixed it in the same day. Right now, everything's perfect. Having coverage with American Home Shield is very good.
The AC wasn't cooling and Tommy, the technician from Phil's Good AC, was very professional but very friendly as well. He was there to get things done but he was also very pleasant about it. He was able to take care of the repair and by the time he left, the house was already cooling. I would recommend that company and Tommy in particular. He seemed like he was very knowledgeable. I got the impression immediately that either he had experience or he was confident or both. So, it was a good experience.
