Submitting claims to American Home Shield has been pretty easy. We had an AC issue recently and they sent Cross Country Mechanical. The tech from there did a fantastic job and he was very polite. He put in Freon into our unit and he said he thought it was leaking. He tightened it up but three weeks later, the air conditioner is not working again. We currently have another claim pending with them that we opened up for the same issue. Regardless, my wife was very impressed with the repairman who came out from Cross Country.
I've had really good service with American Home Shield and I've already renewed my contract for next year. Draingo came out for my claim and the tech brought the part, replaced it and fixed it in one trip. I had another claim for my hot water heater. The contractor had to order a unit and they were able to get one through Home Depot. It took an extra day but they came out quickly. They were very professional and they took care of the problem. My experience with Home Shield has been good. I went through their website to make a claim for an air conditioner that wasn't working. Their site was fine but it would be better if they could make an app for that. All Air Heating & Air Conditioning was the contractor and there was kind of a wide range there for when I could expect them. There wasn't a really good window as far as when that would come. I'm really pleased with Home Shield. I liked their ratings. I googled them and the other companies, and Home Shield had the best ratings on it. Their claims process is quick and easy and really convenient. I did a claim for the refrigerator and someone from Champco came out the next day. I already told my sister about Home Shield, and I got this warranty for my other home too.
The motherboard on our dryer had an issue. I called AHS and got an automated and asked me what appliance, and then it sent me the notification of who they were turning me over to. Then when the company called to make the appointment, the rep had asked some questions. They sent out a repair person to do the evaluation. We troubleshot so we pretty much knew what it was. They didn't have the part so they scheduled to come back. The technician came back the next day and fixed it.
We submitted a claim online with AHS because one of the stove burners was busted, so the electricity doesn’t heat. The heating element was broken. While I was on the website of AHS, they told me that GE was notified and I would get the guy to come tomorrow. GE is the best company which was associated with American Home Shield. We like working with American Home Shield. However, the wait time sometimes to get someone to answer is lengthy. But I know with the pandemic, it’s everywhere. Other than that, we haven't had any issues with any of their contractors.
The line on the AC was clogged and there was no way we could get to that line. The AC would work but there was water coming out of the unit and it was upstairs so it was leaking all over the place. We filed a claim with Home Shield and TradeMasters came out. The tech did what he had to do and checked everything after that. It didn’t take him long. The submission and payment process with American Home Shield have all been fine although sometimes, when I put in a request, there's not always an option to put in more detail. So, when the plumber or the contractor does call, I have to either repeat or they are looking for more information. There should be an opportunity to put that in the request form beforehand or ahead of time. But everybody has been very respectful and helpful.
