Perfect Temp was sent for our AC unit. The condenser was dirty and their tech cleaned it out pretty thoroughly. Then as far as poor airflow stairs, he said that the nature of the ductwork itself is being too narrow to reach the upper level. That wasn't something that they could take care of in a service call but he did a pretty thorough cleaning and it helped quite a bit. I thought it was a good service call. Pretty simple and straightforward. It's the only time that we've used AHS and it's going well.
We've had two different contractors. The very first one was on our kitchen stove. I wasn't impressed with them because they came out and the tech said, "Well, I gotta go see if we can find the parts for it." Three days went by but I didn't hear anything from anybody. I called Home Shield and they said, "Well, he hasn't even turned anything in to us." Air Design came out recently and they were excellent. Our AC went out and it was kinda after hours so I called them that next morning once I got their number from American Home Shield. They sent someone over that same day and they showed up early. I kinda like to know what’s going on so the guy explained that. He was thorough. He even checked other stuff. He was in and out in probably less than an hour and everything’s been good since.
Dr. Cool came out to fix my air conditioning. It was a good experience. I called American Home Shield to file the claim and I was told to expect the contractors out in the next two days. The repair made things much easier. Since we're using Home Shield, I didn't have to worry about a big bill expense. I knew what I was gonna pay upfront. Home Shield is a good product. We've had American Home Shield for years. For a couple of years, they were sending people who weren't local to us and it would take longer which was not a good experience. Other than that, we've always been really happy with them. We had a technician from Service Plus who did a great job on the dishwasher. It was very quick and everything went well.
The electricity was not working. The technician had to wait for Pacific Gas to come and shut off the electricity in the house. We waited about three months because of COVID-19. When they fixed the electricity in the living room, the electricity in the kitchen didn't work. When they fixed the electricity in the kitchen, the electricity in the bedroom didn't work. I called American Home Shield and requested assistance with locating an electrician and then paid them $100 service fee. Oldham County Electric came out to fix the electrical sockets for our dryer. There were two of them and they were both really nice. They were here for like 5 to 10 minutes. They knew exactly what was wrong, got it working, and actually identified additional issues that we needed to, and could address on our own. We had a furnace issue and when I submitted the claim, the operator really helped me out. The first time, it only took about 15 minutes. The second time was a lot longer. Then the third time I had to call in, it said that it would be over an hour and they asked if I wanted to have an operator call me when somebody was free so I just opted for that. Overall, I’m pleased. American Home Shield has been a great coverage. They've responded to the issues I have made a claim on. More Than Plumbing came to repair the shower faucet and the bathroom faucet that were leaking. They were able to do the repair that same day.
