In the one year I was with AHS, I had two claims. The first one was my refrigerator and the contractor came out and realized that it needed a fan. But they did not have that on the truck because it was a special fan. So within three days, they ordered the fan, it came in and they called me to say the fan came in. I've had American Home Shield for a couple and the cost is pretty reasonable. I went with them because of the coverage that they offered. It's like car insurance. You use it 'cause you drive your vehicle every day. So I'll see how it goes this year because I have only used them once. I submitted the claim online and the process was fine. Smokey's Garage Door was sent by American Home Shield to resolve my garage door issue. The techs from there were excellent and I highly recommend them. The rest of AHS's contractors have been fine. There were times though when I had to wait a long time to talk to somebody. Other times I would call and not even get a response. It was frustrating but I understood considering the circumstances. Quick and easy experience. Put in for service online, the amount per service was charged, then AHS promptly contacted the contractor service for immediate scheduling. Within a week the service was completed. We're overall happy with AHS and the contractor for this experience.
My AC stopped working, so R Harris came and helped me fix it. I went online and submitted my claim to American Home Shield. The website is pretty good. The contractor came a couple of days later which is okay. I would have preferred for them to come the next day because under this summer heat, it's hard to stay without an AC. I filed a claim and American Home Shield said the contractor had 48 hours but I wanted to make sure it was taken care of. We were going out of town so I didn't wanna wait anymore. I called on the second day to schedule an appointment. Premier Heating Cooling and Refrigeration came out, assessed the situation, and were very informative. They identified that a fuse in the AC had gone out and I needed to replace it. It took them an hour or two to resolve the issue. The guy from our RK Plumbing Heating and Cooling came out for a plumbing issue and he was on time, professional, and excellent. This has been a drippy faucet for over a year and in the guest bathroom. It even corrodes the part of the stopper. He took care of it immediately and knew exactly what he was doing. I've been very happy with American Home Shield. I find it easy in submitting claims and the time for someone to come out is very reasonable.
It took me a day into the next day to dry clothes where it normally takes two loads for them to dry. I had someone come out. All of a sudden when it was time to wash again the next week, I had the same problem where the drying was taking me all the way into the next day. Things have been going great with American Home Shield. When we first bought our house, we had our gas turned on and we had to turn on the heat. However, there was something the gas guy said he couldn't do and we didn't know anything. I called AHS and they sent their contractor Total Air Care out. The tech got my heat lit. That was great. This year, I had an AC issue and Total Air Care came for that too.
