We had a problem with our AC unit. It would turn on but then its fan would turn on with it. I put in a claim to American Home Shield and I got a text message a couple of hours later that I have been put on schedule with their contractor called Everyday Heating and Cooling. The tech who came had the part needed on him. Plus, he was in and out in 20 minutes. I was really happy with the timeliness and professionalism of AHS and Everyday Heating. More recently, I called AHS on a weekend because I was having an issue with my onli... read more

My experience with AHS has been fine. They seem to get somebody out right away. Submitting a claim has been fairly easy as well. However, I'm worried if things are gonna be covered or not. But the contractor that came out for our plumbing issue recently was great.

When I came to Texas in 2007 and I bought a house, the first company I had was American Home Shield. I changed it to another company because of the price increases, but I decided to go back and so far, so good. I like it and I also recommend it. Recently, they sent BW Electric and they were excellent. They sent me something directly to ask me something. The tech also took a look in different areas of the unit and he immediately went outside to fix the unit’s situation. He changed the electrical part for the new one and he di... read more

I did a claim to American Home Shield for an issue with our washing machine. It was making noises upon startup and filling up the tub itself. After reviewing some items online, I found that the water pump itself was probably having issues. The person from Coastland Appliance came out, looked at it, saw that that was the exact same thing and gives confirmation and he ordered the part. It came in a couple days and he fixed it promptly. It's working perfectly now. So everything is very satisfactory. From time to time, which is ... read more

Like any other Home Shield contractor, Clutch Appliance Repair did a great job. They eventually fixed everything that was needed, so I would recommend them to my mother-in-law. Clutch didn't take long to fix the issue. They came to my house multiple times, but they made sure when I said, "Hey, it's still not working," they said, "No problem." They rescheduled for another day and came out, and then they eventually fixed the problem. I understand that some things can be fixed the first time, but not everything can be fixed the... read more

The contractor wast on time for our AC unit. There was something up in the attic that kept tripping it and the guy fixed it in 45 minutes. Everything was very good with the claim and it's been good so far with American Home Shield.

American Home Shield's claims process seemed to work fine once I got through to someone. The only thing that was a little awkward was the person from the insurance company found a supplier, but they were about three hours away, so I had to have her look further to find the people in Vail. Once they got that taken care of, it went fine. Vail came out for my AC and everything's working very well.

When the burners were out on the stove, I contacted American Home Shield directly and spoke with a representative who took all my information that I provided. They initiated the claim and gave me the name of who I was supposed to contact, and I called the folks. I got an 800 number where it was like a call center environment. They then dispatched the person out and that person came. He was overly friendly, but he was fine. He fixed the problem. The only problem I had was he didn't even screw the stove back on.

American Home Shield works but there is a dreadful electrical company that represents them in Montgomery, and it's very big, but they have a extremely bad reputation. Home Shield lost the two big houses across the street from us because they insisted on sending Myers Electrical. They wouldn't accept Myers Electric inside their house. They weren't that bad for us, but they damn near electrocuted a repair guy. They were sent to repair a circuit breaker, which is a safety device. When you remove the connection thing to a 220-vol... read more
