I liked that when we call them, they get the right person that does the particular job, and then usually I hear from them within hours. It's very easy to submit the claims online. We put in a claim when the hot water dispenser of the kitchen sink wasn't working. The tech came out and it was working. He turned it on and the water was hot. But when he left, we realized it was hot, but it was not as hot as it was supposed to be. The tech said that if we had any issues to let him know and they would come back and replace it. When we contact American Home Shield, right away, we’re told who our contractor is gonna be. Sometimes, we have issues with trying to get in touch with them or them reaching us, but I don’t think they can control that. The contractor came out when we had no AC in over 100 degrees. It seems like we always get the same gentleman. He is a really nice guy. He showed my husband where the problem was and fixed it within just a few minutes, then he was on his way.
Response time was good. Parts were ordered and that took a while. Technician was excellent. Knowledgable and very courteous. Was extremely happy overall. I will definitely recommend Home Shield to my family and friends.
I’ve just renewed, so this is my second year with American Home Shield. I looked at the competitors and I felt that they had the most to offer and they had the most flexible plan rates as well. They have three different tiers I can go with depending on how much I wanna spend. The representative was very nice when he called me back (I was unwilling to wait 45 mins on hold). He understood that in that time I was able to re-register my account online and request service that way.
I have had AHS for several years and have filed several claims with them. They have always been responsive and have resolved 99 percent of my claims to my satisfaction. The one they couldn’t resolve was handled in compliance with my contract with them. I recommend AHS highly to all homeowners.
When I filed a plumbing claim one afternoon, the rep said someone would contact me within 24 hours. But I had not heard from anybody the next day late in the afternoon. I never had that problem with American Home Shield until this time. When I called Dave’s Plumbing, they didn't have the paperwork from American Home Shield. They had to call and get the paperwork. I have American Home Shield on two different properties. Everything's great. They had Douglas Mechanical out when the coil or condenser went out on my AC. Their tech replaced that. After that, he did some upgrades with the code. It worked out well and I really appreciate the fact that I was able to get the issue resolved. The contractor was great and so was their service. They were really responsive and quick.
Everything went well with Greenbelt Appliance when they came out. There was something making noise in the washer. It was in spin cycle, and it sounded like it took off. It was the bearing. The tech said the machine’s just so old and he couldn't replace it. I haven't heard from American Home Shield to replace my appliance. They said it needed to be replaced.
