American Home Shield is a good thing. When I needed them, they sent somebody out. They fixed everything that needed to be done. But when it comes to the end of the year when it's time to renew the warranty, American Home Shield can lower the price. If I get the price go down, that’d be great. But we will finally be going back again, no doubt.
My air conditioner wasn't cooling and I sent in a claim to American Home Shield. I did my claim online. It was a lot easier. I was on hold for almost an hour trying to do my claim. Then I just pulled up the website while I was on hold and I got it done in a matter of minutes. The guy from Beaches came out and looked over the AC unit and he found that it was clogged. My wife and I have been with American Home Shield for nearly 10 years, and we truly appreciate the fast and efficient service. They do a wonderful job vetting companies, and when things don't work out they are quick to resolve the issue. We first learned of AHS from our daughter and son in law, but now that we have been with the agency we are quick to share with our family and friends. The stove was not heating up and it needed a replacement for the heating element. The Appliance Whisperer took care of it as soon as the part came in -- it took about five days to get it in. They immediately installed it, and it took them less than 20 minutes to fix it. If it is something American Home Shield can fix immediately, they fix it immediately. American Home Shield's claims process is very easy. I was very pleased. My oldest granddaughter and husband got into that program when they bought their house and they have been very happy. So that's how we came to decide we better get it just in case. We had a leak in our washer and it was the first time we had to use them. The customer service of AHS has been pretty responsive. Recently, I submitted a claim for my water heater because the whole close valve was going out on it. So the contractor that came put a new part on it.
Durham Contractors came out for a leaking toilet and they told me that they sealed it. They did the repair that same day, and everything has been working fine since. I've also sent a claim for my garage door before this one and it was good, too. I have American Home Shield since January and I like it because when they come to repair things, I can just pay the deductible and have it repaired. I don’t have to worry about coming up with a lump sum of money at one time. American Home Shield is good to me.
