My dryer stopped drying and it did the same thing earlier in the year. AHS had a different company come out. I thought that if the dryer broke down and they sent the same person out for the same thing, then I didn't have to pay the $100. I asked the girl about it and she said something about it being within the six-month time. I used to live at a different address, I had AHS about nine years and I never knew that. Great experience in customer service. We called for our air conditioning service and we got a call from a company to schedule an appointment right away. Always great service!
The AC wasn't cooling as it should so Element came out. The issue ended up being the AC needing refrigerant. The unit was also frozen so they had to unfreeze it. Before they left, they said it was gonna continue dripping. Sure enough, it continued dripping but it didn't stop and it was actually quite a bit. I called American Home Shield back and the contractor came back out. I submitted a claim to American Home Shield over the phone for an AC issue and they sent Comfort First Heating & Cooling to handle the claim. The techs were very quick and professional. They were thorough and they cleaned up after themselves. I would like AHS to pay more towards the Freon cost but that's no big deal.
Our cooling system on the inside had cracked. So, the whole system had to be replaced. Both times when Cool Breeze came out, when they first diagnosed it and then when they returned to fix it, replace it, they were friendly. The technicians were excellent.
AHS is a good provider. We got the appointment set right away for our most recent claim. Kevin, the contractor, did a fantastic job. He was very professional, came on time, and was a bit thorough. He provided good explanations on everything that was fixed in the unit. We had a good resolution.
It takes a lot to get a claim filed with Home Shield. It is difficult at times to have things taken care of. They would replace home appliances and they would save you in the long run that way, but there have been hours of phone time and phone calls that I’ve had to spend in trying to get claims taken care of and replaced. Also, their billing department really needs to have someone go through and give them some assistance because I was billed for the same service fee multiple times even though it’s been paid. Our garbage disposal was leaking from the bottom one time and my wife went on the computer to submit a claim to American Home Shield. They gave us an email letting us know what was happening and that one of their contractors was coming. The tech was on time and he replaced our garbage disposal. Everything has been fine since then.
I have used the American Home Shield protective insurance on a number of home issues including electrical problems, plumbing problems, HAVC issues, etc. I have also used other home warranty companies in the past, and I have had less hassle using AHS's service than other companies, and experienced no broken promises like reneging on agreements experienced with other companies, and no problems using American Home Shield.
