The AHS website was pretty user-friendly. After I filed my claim, they sent me an email that said they were going to contact me within a certain amount of time. The contractor came out in a couple of days and the person who came to check the dishwasher was really nice, helpful, and explained everything that was going on. We had our dishwasher replaced, which is good, but AHS ordered the new dishwasher through Home Depot and would not install it. My fiance is a plumber and he installed it. We've had to use AHS twice now and i... read more

I submitted a claim to American Home Shield online and picked the option to tell them I had issues with a leaking upstairs toilet. The leak went through the floor and warped the ceiling below. I indicated that there was water damage too. There was a hole where the water dripped through. Their contractor Air Pro Master came out to service my claim. I was hoping they would fix the drywall damage but the techs tried to tell me that would be handled by my insurance company. Instead, I ended up doing that myself. I went to Lowe's... read more

I had a plumbing issue almost a month ago. My disposal wasn’t working and my faucet was dripping, and I called it in. American Home Shield said that it could be on the same claim because they were connected. They told me to expect the contractor within a day or so, and they called the next day. Chris, the rep, was amazing. He replaced the disposal and I can use it now. He also replaced the faucet and the sink is not leaking anymore. So, everything is wonderful. He did a great job and I was very happy and amazed with the leve... read more

With AHS, I like that I can call somebody up and they can come and fix it. It's more of a convenience and not extraordinarily costly to pay out-of-pocket right then to have things fixed or replaced. I had an issue with my water heater and they ended up replacing that because it got bad. We also had a claim for an older refrigerator. The technician has come out a few times and he has been awesome. The first time they did it, they thought it was a thermocouple that didn’t work. But it was the thermometer. The heater was workin... read more

When I bought my house, the previous homeowner had purchased Home Shield for me. So far, my experience with them has been good. They call and email me and keep me up-to-date on things. Their website is user-friendly, too. When my furnace didn't work, I went online and submitted a claim. The techs came faster and way better than I expected and they replaced my furnace. It's summer now. But it was cold in the house and I needed a new furnace. Having AHS is definitely worth it. I'd tell my neighbors they should pay for it and a... read more

I called in and spoke to a rep at AHS when the AC unit on my rental property was not cooling at all. I didn't meet the technician, but I did speak with him via telephone. He was very friendly and very informative. He met the window I was given of when to expect him. The tenant was very satisfied. I had work done by another contractor dealing with the furnace on another claim. American Home Shield paid some, and I had to meet a payment of $1,300. That contractor did not fulfill all of what needed to be done correctly in the r... read more

When the AHS people schedule, the contractors are there pretty quickly within a day. Also, it’s easier to pay the copay and just have the contractor come and they take care of it. I have four brand-new GE appliances, just about a year old. I didn’t know they were junk when I bought them. I’ve been trying to get my dishwasher fixed through GE ‘cause it’s still under warranty. They couldn't find the parts for eight weeks now. The GE tech said he'd be around the corner and he’d call me. I told him that I’m five minutes away. He... read more

Our air conditioner wasn’t coming on to cool the house. We called American Home Shield, gave them our account numbers, and rather quickly, we were told that someone would be calling us to set up an appointment. The contractor came out last Saturday and it was perfect. We were very pleased with A1. Ken, the technician, was very pleasant and came early. He was a true gentleman and he knew his craft. We hope we can always have them if we need any further service. The experience with AHS was wonderful and the response was great.
