For the five years that I've had American Home Shield, they've been excellent. I did a claim on my AC that broke. Max Air Heating and Cooling came out and fixed it one time, and it broke again. Then they came out, and they had to replace about four items. They got everything fixed on the second visit. They had to order a part that they didn’t have in stock. When they got that in, they found out some other things went out of whack. So, they replaced everything. They did a good job.
I have two homes and I renewed my other one. I was gonna use American Home Shield but their fee is higher than most people. And if you have a Freon issue, other people don’t charge the extra Freon that American Home Shield does. Also, it’s hard to get through to American Home Shield on the phone. It takes forever. The gentleman was very professional and completed job soon after he received the part. He was also courteous about the covid19 virus by asking us to stay in another room while he repairs our ice maker. Thank you.
RK got my AC working, and I can still use the heat. Everything was wonderful. The repairman stayed until he knew he had it right. I started with American Home Shield in October when I bought the place, and I used them for numerous different things. They’ve been good to cover things. As far as submitting a claim, I would prefer to talk to a person after having go through the automated thing.
I always recommend American Home Shield to my friends who are purchasing a new brand new home for the first time. It's really easy making a claim with them. You go online, enter what the issue is then either you’re prompted to call this number and this company or they send somebody out. The only thing is there's pretty much just dropdown boxes kind of thing online. If you don't have anything from the dropdown box, you pick other. Excellent experience. I got an email shortly after the claim was created online stating that my claim is assigned to a local company and will be contacted soon. I got the call within 2 hours to schedule the time and the next day tech came to fix the issue. Very professional and courteous service.
United Air Temp came out once but they didn’t have the part, which was okay. They don’t always get to read the comments that I put in. So then the tech had the piece shipped out here so I have it. But we were getting this COVID thing and I asked them to make sure the next guy wears a mask when he comes in because the first guy didn’t. I just wanted that. You have to go the extra yard. I’ve only had American Home Shield for one year and I’m new with them, but they seemed to take care of the problems that I had. I’ve had had to call in several times in this year and they’ve done everything that I needed. But when we had a hot water heater go out, I had to spend $500 out of pocket that I was kinda surprised. It was a new hot water heater but we could’ve want a cheaper way to do it. But maybe they wanted to make sure I have the best. Fantastic service! Our sump pump went out Easter night with rain all day and rain in the forecast for the next day. We called and got an appointment for the next day. The contractor came when he said that he would and fixed the problem by installing a new unit. He was also very understanding about distancing himself from my 88 year old mother due to the COVID-19 virus.
