This company gets 1 star. We have paid for this warranty 9 months...we requested a service call on an electrical problem...I get the run around then I finally get someone and they tell me I while you have coverage for electric we wont cover a short..what am I paying for? Iam unsatisfied and they are fraudsters ..they happily take your money...but don't want to make repairs

Previous customer so felt ok using them again. CRIMINAL negligence on the current claim. DO NOT recomnend this company. Made AC claim for poor cooling. Technician left my system inoperable with 107 degree heat in Texas. Called to see when he would be back. It's been 3 days & AHS says they are looking into maybe doing an authorization. Refused to prioritize the repair. This is heat that kills.

Although I have been a customer of AHS for 15 years, my recent encounters regarding my heat pump result in my strongly discouraging anyone from becoming a customer without carefully reading the entire contract. If you engage with AHS under the contract, you no longer are the owner of the appliance, in that you can make no decisions about that appliance. AHS selects the repair firm. There is nothing in the agreement that the contractors are certified or qualified to service your appliance. Shoddy workmanship, rude technicians... read more

Making service requests are easy & getting fixes are semi-ok (some of the contractors aren't rated highly or their performance isn't up to high standards at times - they do the least to get their paycheck it seems). However, awaiting feedback on work order situations from AHS is too slow when encountering a negative interaction. AHS answers the phone call, takes down full information & promises a 24hr turn around, but we're going on a week of no feedback.

I had no choice in who the technician was. The technician that was chosen only worked 11-2 in my zip code, and that’s it. He wouldn’t give an appt time, even though he claims he has appts out here, and he said he only works during the week. I had already paid the $75 service fee because it makes me do that before I even know who the tech is. I called AHS, and they said I was stuck. Their customer service is far below standard - and they are not eager to correct the problem satisfactory

American Home Shield If I could give them less than one Star I would do that! Absolute worst customer service I have had to deal with. Yet they are quick to take your deductible money out of your account! Only thing this company is good for is a Re-Key the person who showed up for that was on time and personal. So the dishwasher goes out, they send a service person out from SEARS IN EVANSVILLE, INDIANA! Service person says the mother board is gone out on the dishwasher. I have had difficulty with the company since day one. Warranty came with purchase of the home. The customer service reps are not native English speakers , that would be okay if they were good English speakers. But it is more than a difficult to understand accent. They can only read off their script and don’t seem to understand what you are saying. Then, you wait on hold a long time, and get hung up during the call a lot once you’ve connected to a rep, they do not call you back when call is dropped so you start from square on... read more

On 5/6/19 American Homesheild replaced my ductless mini split system with a Carrier Unit. The unit has never worked properly. We have called American Homesheild numerous times and only once received a call back. The unit was put on recall and it has not been resolved. The contractor charged me for things he did not replace, and he told he pulled a permit. He never did. He reused old lines, never changed the condensate line, used wire ties to connect pipes, and the air handler wad not level which caused the drip pan to leak. ... read more
