American home shield has denied our claims on our warranty policy when they are clearly covered. They give you the run around and the service techs that have come out do the same.

What a horrible company to deal with. Very bad experience during the first year itself. There contractors are liars and AHS wants to believe in such contractors. There is no coordination between the contracting companies and American home shield. Have to wait for days to get one thing fixed. Last year I renewed for the year again and paid for the whole year in advance. Fortunately I had no problem so did not make a single service call. I bought my house July 31st, Since I have moved in I have had American Home Shield out to look at several issues. The first issue was with my Air Conditioning Unit and they told me they would call me to schedule to have someone out, I late found out from me calling them that they took the liberty of just scheduling without verifying anyone would be there. This company is horrible, horrible, horrible! I need plumbing service and I specifically stated that I did not want to deal with Tiger Plumbing 11247 Sullivan Road, Baton Rouge. The Better Business on bbb.org has issued a warning "ADVISING CONSUMERS TO USE CAUTION WHEN CONSIDERING DOING BUSINESS WITH TIGER DUE TO THE PATTERN OF CUSTOMER COMPLAINT ALLEGING INFERIOR REPAIRS, FAILURE TO REPAIR DAMAGE, MISDIAGNOSING PROBLEMS, POOR WORKMANSHIP AND LEAVING AREAS A MESS." When I was contacted by the sales team at American Home Shield, I asked specifically what plan fully covered my home and that was their best policy as I wanted everything in my home covered as much as possible including my pool in the back yard. I was sold a 3x3 Combo plan and was reassured it was the absolute best plan to cover everything in my home, and this is where the LIES begin. I moved into my house this month. The plumbing started backing up. Called AHS- they told me it sounded like a stoppage and they covered it. I paid the 75.00 service fee. When the plumber came out he said it was not covered and he could not do it. Had to find another company, pay another service fee and cost through that company. Home Warranty's are a SCAM. I called AHS and no one cares. if I would have called the plumber first, I could have saved 75.00. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS COMPAY.

Paid extra to cover septic tank. Septic tank was not working properly so I contacted American home shield. I was charged $75 and told I need a new compressor when nobody even came to my residence to inspect it. Found someone else and turns out screen was covered w/ grass. American home shield is a horrible company and I highly recommend saving your money.

I am pretty sure AHS is a scam. I have tried to use my policy twice - once for plumbing and once for a heater that stopped venting. Both times it failed Paid $75 fee Their plumber - said it couldnt be unclogged, AHS does not cover $100 fee for additional independant plumber - simple routing job. PAID TWICE what i would have just not using their service. Paid $75 fee Their HVAC tech - says my heater is needing a replacement and is dangerous. AHS says they do not cover. I have used American Home shield for over 25 yrs now. They use to be amazing. They us to use ARS for most of the contracts. I have not seen ARS come out in years now. Every Ac company they have sent me have tried to rip us off. One of the companies tried to tell me my AC unit needed to be in code before they could work on it. We live outside the city limits and did not need anything done for any codes. The last company they sent me tried to get me to replace my ac when all it needed was a part.
