Loyal customer 12+years - means nothing! My AC went out on 7/22. Couldn't get a technician until 7/29. Using the lowest bidders for service - Total Air Care didn't submit a diagnosis report until 8/6. There was an error in my out of pocket costs. The required gas for the compressor went from 6lbs to 10lbs to 9lbs.... horrible telephone hold times! My appointment is 8/19!

AC unit air handler had died in mid May. I called AHS to file a case with them to get someone out to look at it. An entire week later, and I was told that the contract company was contacted, and I should "hear" something back in 24-48 hours. Fast forward to the beginning of June, I finally have a tech come out that figures out that the air handler has died (i told them this on the phone, weeks earlier). I have a 1893 Victorian, and with the house being that old, I thought this insurance would be a good idea to minimize future costs. Boy, was I wrong. I've been a customer since 2013. In my account, I can only see the last two years, but during that time I can see that I have had no requests for service that resulted in anyone actually visiting my home. Contacted AHS 10 days ago about a plumbing issue and oven not working properly. The temperature fluctuates as much as 50 degrees. Food either burns or has to cook forever to get done. Plumbing was partially fixed a week ago. Have to wait until Dec 23 for repairman to come back to fix correctly. I waited and additional day to be contacted by repair service for the oven. They called me and asked what the problem was, asked for make, model and serial number and then told me the were ordering parts. Said they would call me when ... read more

American Home Shield has delivered to me an extraordinarily poor customer experience. They sent out a contractor to fix my refrigerator which they proceeded to make worse according to the next contractor they sent out to fix the poor work that the previous contractor accomplished. I then received a note scheduling the original contractor to come back and fix their problem but they refused to fix it according to AHS. This company is nothing but FRAUD! I had my AC repaired on 9/20/19 which cost me over $800.00 to repair (which took 2 weeks to get them to come out because they were waiting for part from AHS) and after all that it was still was not working. I called on 9/20/19 to AHS because the service tech said my Evaporator Coil needed to repaired. The AHS lady I spoke to with the service tech said it was covered and he could repair it and did not need to change the original invoice. He needed to come back to repair as it was late. I had a horrible experience with this company when getting the spring on my garage door replaced. The person I talked to at AHS told me it was covered and it wasn't so I ended up paying $500 with the service fee. I could have gotten it fixed much cheaper without a warranty claim. During this ordeal I called customer service at least 10 times and they always promised me that someone would contact me, but that never happened. Now I've decided to cancel my warrant with AHS and they're telling me there is a cancellation fee. How... read more

When you submit a request they state that everything is NOT repairable so they don't actually have to fix anything. Each time they pass you around department to department when you get answers and then finally say their systems are down and they will call back. It's a ping pong game of representatives and they don't want to do the work.

When you have 2 different systems break you have to call in the requests. There is no guarantee the proper action will b taken. If my up stairs and down stairs heat pump is broke I can’t fit them on the same request.
