Omg where do I start. Was a loyal AHS member for 15 years but thus last go around was too much and I jumped ship to Amazons new service. It all started when the water heater took a dump. That is where the scheming between AHS and their plumber started. I learned troubling things about how AHS works with the plumber to do everything possible to either avoid approving the claim, or creating other fees like "bringing the unit up to code" even though the unit was up to code. I am disappointed in the service that AHS has provided in the recent years. It appears that the contractors sent to your home are eager to let you know that something is not covered under your warranty. They are more interested in contacting AHS to lie and give them a cost that they would charge to fix the problem that you paid a service fee for them to come out to your home. I recently submitted a request to have my air condition repaired. I have had a total of 3 different contractors and each one had a different diagnosis.... read more

Leaking water heater called on Tuesday am 6/24/19 told someone will contact me within 4 hrs. Had to call again no one contacted me from plumbing company. On 6/25/19 the plumbing company finally showed up. Yes, you have a leaking water heater that needs to be replaced. AHS is misleading about all you pay is a service fee of $100 to either replace or repair water heater. The plumbing company emailed me a invoice for $478 to replace my water heater. AHS is a scam, plain and simple. They will collect your money but do not cover repairs.

We have had a refrigerator broken for a month they keep saying they cant get a hold of the contractors they send out. This feels like such a scam to me. Terrible company. Would give zero stars if I could.

AHS got a service person out quickly but he said my washing machine was not repairable. I was told I would be emailed with options. That’s been 5 days and not a word. There is no way to communicate through my account. I call phone numbers and wait on hold for 30 minutes. Call again and wait 10 and then I see this email requesting my review. Maybe you guys at Best can contact someone for me.

I'd give 0 stars if I could. I've been trying to not only get a knowledgable human being on the phone for almost the entire year we've had the plan, but trying to resolve the issue that we've already paid for. Hold times are insanely long, they continue to transfer you from department to department resulting int the answer "someone will have to call you back" and no one does. For what I pay per month, I would expect a company coming to my home for a service call to be one that I would recognize. I have had people show up for a service call in their own cars or trucks unmarked. I have told them before when I called for service please don't send me anyone working out of their car with no company markings on the vehicles. I think they are contracting with the lowest bidder.

I've been with American Home Shield since 2006. I've had a few service requests with them over the years. The majority of the time, everything from the timeless of the request to completion have gone smoothly. When my family and friends ask which home warranty company is good, I always recommend them (a lot of them have purchased their own home warranty.
