Horrible. I've been dealing with a broken dishwasher since January - it's now mid-May. They declined the repair twice, stating it was due to a missing air gap that was actually there. They sent another repair company out and they tried to replace the board, which was a $600 part - still didn't work. So today they're supposed to be delivering and installing my new dishwasher and the people they sent out won't install because the valve is corroded with water deposit. We requested service. When they couldn’t provide service, we ended up going with a separate company. Almost two months later and ten hours on the phone, they are still trying to collect $80 for service not received. Based on an hourly rate, I’m tempted to send them a bill for my time. AWFUL customer service.
If I could give a zero I would. Their customer service reps cant provide correct information on your home warranty if you call to ask simple questions Such as : When is my new payment due? How much was my renewal? The rep Frances said I did not have a renewal. And my last policy was $315 when it was $441. That's alot of difference in cost. I used my home warranty policy at American Home Shield to rekey the locks on my home. The third-party locksmith (that American Home Shield provided) told me that 4 of the locks were "smart locks" and for that reason, he'd have to charge $25 extra. I called American Home Shield and spoke with an employee named Sweet who explained American Home Shield absolutely covers smart locks. I have had AMERICAN Home Shield for over 30 years and it USED TO BE a great company but now that they are out sourcing customer service (and maybe other reasons) it has gone down hill. I have been waiting over a month for parts to my stove top. I cook 3 meals a day for my family and is so important because of my husband’s health issues. We have three homes covered by this company and are planning on leaving two properties next month and the third as soon as the contact is over. Such bad customer service. We requested service for our washer, paid the $125, only to have the company they went out come twice, both times promising to order parts and nothing happened over the course of a month. When we asked for them to send a different company, they said only if we paid another $125. Every time i call them I am on hold for at least 40 minutes. After many years of coverage, thinking that I was covered from any major,"catastrophic" events, it finally happened. Two A/c units failed at the same time, with each one needing a new evaporator coil. After the tech diagnosed the problem, a few days later, I got a call from AHS, telling me that only the coil itself was covered, the first $10 of refrigerant was covered.
