Repair shops are reluctant to deem an item not repairable since it reflects negatively on them with AHS; it took 3 months and 3 different repair shops to finally get one to certify my refrigerator ice maker was not repairable when the first shop should have done so.
horrible customer service. had main drain blockage. their 2 contractors didn't call back so I hired my own to clear the clog before raw sewage backed up into my house. Now, they refuse to reimburse me.
I have American Home Shield. When the temperatures hit record colds, my pipes froze and burst. I didn't think they would cover it but I figured I should call; it was worth a try. To my surprise, after explaining the situation, they told me they did cover. I cancelled the original plumber I had coming and waited for them. This company is a SCAM. First be prepare to wait on hold for quite a while before actually speaking to someone. Next, be prepare to get DENIED. My water heater sprung a leak and the company said that my 80 year old tenant broke it. Nope. My 80 year old tenant did not touch it. My tenant is intimidated to touch anything as he is old and not handy. He simply calls me and I called AHS. This is their MO.
We got coverage over a year ago and used it for the first time two weeks ago. They have sent the same repair service company out twice only for them to do NOTHING because it's too expensive to fix. AHS is dragging their feet and blaming the service technicians on finishing this request. Rude Customer service. They keep saying "24hrs more". I'm so ready to cancel!

I was not happy with this past request I put in for the plumbing issue I encountered. Literally on the phone 3 different times. Hung up I’m sure accidentally 2 times before I was able to get back on a call. The initial request I put in was for 2 toilets and garbage disposal. When Rapp plumbing came out, they stated they do not have the order for the garbage dissolved they couldn’t work on that. Back and forth on calls with AHS and they stated they sent it. Our AC went out in July in Phoenix, AZ and American Home Sheild was the warranty holder on the rental home we lived in. We waited for over 10 days for anyone to come out and service the AC unit!! It was oppressive!! Apparently their computer system had failed on a Friday and our unit went out on he same day. Even though they were back up by Monday, it still took another week plus to help us. Worst customer service experience I’d ever had. I would not recolmend this company.
I requested my service fee come out of my account on a certain day...they took it sooner causing additional Bank fees...I am disappointed in them...there service person they sent out was excellent

AHS took money out of our account because we REQUESTED service through their website. We never received a call or service. Not once but on 2 different occasions. Beware, key word is REQUESTED. When a REQUEST is submitted you are automatically charged $106 even if services are never rendered. We fixed the electrical problem ourselves. Stay away from AHS unless you want your bank account drained, $106 at a time. -10 stars!
