I submitted the claim online then I had another company come out first and it was for the wrong thing. I had to submit a new request. United Air Temp came out. The technician was good and repaired the existing unit. American Home Shield was great.
Because I have American Home Shield, the repairs are not expensive. However, the washing machine repair person who came out was rude and that was a little off-putting. He was in my garage on a pandemic and I was trying to tell him what was happening. I was sharing with him pictures that it was clearly pooling where it was pooling. We have a little two-year-old and her sock got stuck in the sucker so the washer wasn't draining. When I did the claim online with American Home Shield, the calendar was grayed out. The closer time was four days out and we took the earliest appointment that was available. Everything was good.
The claims are normally very easy to process because they're normally just plumbing or electrical for me. Recently, Walston fixed one of the drain pipes under the house and they did an excellent job and they always do. They've been out several times. I've had one with the doorbell, but that is a little more difficult because there aren't many places in our small area that take care of that sort of thing. The unit outside was making a large clicking noise, like it was trying to come on and off. I went upstairs to look at the unit and it was doing the same thing. I noticed there was a red light flashing and then I shut off my unit after that. The technicians called up and said they were a little early, which was good. They were professional and very friendly as well. I explained everything to them and when I showed them what red light was flashing, it pinpointed them right away where to look at. Our air conditioners have had 4 service calls on them and we had one call on the refrigerator. We had to pay almost $400 for the freon on the AC unit but hopefully now those will be good to go. The fridge they determined could not be fixed because parts were not available. They gave us 2/3 of what it cost to replace with an identical unit which was a little disappointing. the check did arrive before my credit card bill though so I am thankful for that. The most recent claim I had with AHS was about my air conditioning unit that wasn't running cold air. They sent a technician out here and the tech said that it's my fault and it's not covered, instead of going into details. Then, AHS sent another technician to verify that and the second technician said the same thing so they're not covering the claim. The rep who came for the drain stoppage in the downstairs toilet was great. Everything was quick, efficient and very nice. We’ve had a couple of other claims with American Home Shield and they’ve been wonderful each time. We’ve been impressed with them. AHS is great and worth the price.
The AC drain line got clogged up. The guy found the issue and fixed it. The contractor was great. I've only used American Home Shield twice and both times have been good.
