David Swann Appliance Repair came out recently and my interaction with the tech was fine. It just took a long time to get the parts. Home Shield has been pretty good.
I got an email saying that I could qualify for a preseason heating checkup. I took advantage of that and they told me that the contractor himself would call, which he did within eight hours and set up an appointment. He told me a timeframe. It was an hour window when he would be here. He was very thorough. The garage door would not close. It would only go halfway, and then it would open back up. The guy from Ace’s Garage Door was very nice, pleasant and considerate. He told me that the issue had nothing to do with the garage door opener. He looked at the rails and told me that that was the problem but he couldn't do anything with it because it's not covered, which I understand. I saw water leaking outside of my house on the wall on the ground near the foundation. I didn't know whether it was leaking from my bathtub or the shower. When I placed service for different categories, I couldn't do it at the same time when I had the people that came out for the water heater. I haven't pursued the plumbing issue yet because the fee is $100 every time I need service done. I didn’t know the service was so high just to come out. The air conditioner was running hot and it stopped working. The lines were busted outside and the Freon had leaked out. AHS gave us the information that was needed and got the people out that day that I called. The air conditioner has been working good since then.
There was this incident in December where I needed my washer and dryer fixed. American Home Shield scheduled me for the wrong date and then the contractors didn't get out for over a week. The process of submitting a claim in and of itself is fine but coming out in a timely fashion is a little different. But it's not always that AHS does that. The oven part of the stove wasn't heating. I do a lot of cooking, so not having the stove working was difficult. The American Home Shield website is pretty easy to use. I put the information in there to let them know that it wasn't heating. Then they contacted the contractor and had them call me. The contractor sent me a message that said that they would contact me within 24 hours. They reached out to me and scheduled the appointment and they came out on the day that they had put. When my refrigerator broke, I went to the website and logged in with the account I made. It was easy once I remembered my password. The date of when to expect the contractor was right but the time was all over the place. He told me he’d to be there 10:00 but he ended up showing up at 4:00. It was a crazy day for him so it’s not a big deal.
American Home Shield called the contractor and the contractor called me. They came and fixed my heater. They did a good job. The heater was dropping a lot of water and when they went and fixed it, everything is going good.
