I sent in a claim to American Home Shield because my air conditioner thermostat went blank on me. My air conditioner stopped and I didn't know what to do. We had a washing machine problem. We called AHS and they sent out the techs. They had to order a part, so we were without the washing machine for about a week. Then, they came and fixed it. So, it was great. The techs were very professional and they did it really fast. Also, there had been something where AHS refunded us some money for something and that was good.
I got a phone call from Beaches Air Conditioning to schedule an appointment within hours after submitting the claim. They came the very next day. The person that was here was spectacular, very nice, seemed to know his stuff pretty good. I was impressed with the company. Got everything up and running for me and no problems. I was also impressed with Home Shield. As long as I have it, I'm not worried about it. If I got a problem and I'm being covered for it, I don't have a problem at all with submitting the claim. So far, American Home Shield has been very good with us. Everything has been set on time, as indicated on the emails every time we send a request. Everything's working well since most of the repairs. The first request was the pressure pump of my pool and it's working perfectly.
My hot water heater was leaking. The plumber came and looked at it, diagnosed it, said what he needed to do and took care of it. There were some repairs done that day that made the heater usable, but he said he was gonna recommend that it be replaced because he didn't think it was gonna last. It was a really old unit. I know a couple of people who have not had good experiences with Home Shield, but I've had them for a while and I haven't had any problems. I call for my claims. Once they give me a contractor, they ask me to pay the copay by phone and I give them my debit card. The contractor is known to call within 24 hours after that. I've requested certain contractors that have come out before and they send them out again if I request them.Everything's going well with me. Using American home Shield is painless. Submitting claims is easy as cake. We had a broken sink pipe and after their tech came to do the repair, things have been great.
The contractor was a local repair shop and they were good. They were very honest about the repair and what would be the best thing for me to do. They said it would cost too much to repair that washer. I had to get it replaced. I replaced the washer and I'm waiting to get reimbursed by American Home Shield. We've also had our air conditioning looked at and repaired. We've also had our electrical locks. My washing machine was not working. Submitting the claim for that was very easy. I did it online. The contractor Home Shield sent out was very professional and nice. They went down and figured out that the machine was not draining properly. They emptied out the water and then gave us the solution. It was just the drain was clogged. They removed the clog and everything was fine. It was a great experience. Also, I love the fact that the payment comes out, you don't pay the contractor.
