I had an air conditioner that was leaking and I called American Home Shield for the claim. Within 24 hours, they had a contractor call me. The technician came out, diagnosed it in a few minutes and fixed it. It was the only time I've ever used AHS and it worked out fine.
Everything's going perfectly. We haven't had a problem with the AC since Air Creation came out. They did a good job. American Home Shield is worth it. I feel good about the service. But I feel it’s almost now that we have it, everything’s breaking. Each time, I gotta pay $100 and in most cases, I don't know what to do. Right now, our microwave is on the blink. It's ether buy a new microwave or pay $100 for them to come and look at it. I can’t buy the type of microwave we have for $100 and the fix is maybe something simple.
It's easy to submit a claim to American Home Shield. The only thing is they outsource everything, and so sometimes the language barrier is a little difficult to overcome. But I've never had to escalate it. It just takes a little bit longer than normal just to resolve an issue. Handyman Cooling Service came out on my most recent claim. I had a leak in a faucet. They had to order a part and come back. We've been happy with American Home Shield. We've been with them for a long time.
When the appliance people came in, they told me that they couldn't take my refrigerator apart because something was wrong with the valve that connects the water to the refrigerator so then I needed a plumber. I used my American Home Shield and they sent out the guy from J-Star. He was really good. He came out and looked at the problem. He didn't have what he needed on the truck so he ran to Home Depot. The claim for the heater was good. It's been fixed and we are very happy with that. Besides that, the gas did not start and they showed us how to start it. However, the current SR has been going on for a while. We have opened it on October 1st or 2nd. It was the issue about the stoppage. There is a leakage in the restroom for the sink. It has been assigned to some other plumber and they did not show up. Then it has been reassigned to Honest Plumbers. They came and fixed the stoppage but did not fix the leakage. American Home Shield's tech from Appliance Works came and he had all the parts. He put them in but then realized that the parts he brought were wrong. He took them back and came back again with other parts. He put those in and everything worked. After he left, I found that there was a squeak from the parts that he replaced. I called and Appliance Works' tech came back out. Now, things are working perfectly. Overall, their service was excellent. So far, things have been great with AHS. Submitting claims to them has been easy.
AHS's contractor Street Plumbing changed our toilet valve the same day they came. That fixed the issue we had. Everything went okay. Submitting this claim online was easy.
Affordable Services came out because the washer seemed to not be rinsing out or spinning out the water. A plumber said that my shut-off valves were stuck open but when he did it, it shut off the water. I was trying to figure out about the ventless dryer but the technician said he couldn't look at the vents because I'm in a condo. Then he asked me about the settings and checked it all out. I called in a claim for a dryer to American Home Shield. They gave me a couple of places with whom they were trying to see if the job at my place could get done. The tech they sent was excellent. So far, the dryer has been working well. Another tech sent by AHS also came out for my refrigerator issue. He was able to fix that as well. Both the techs they sent were very professional. I'm satisfied with AHS and I've given their number to two people so that they can call in to see if they want to try it.
